If you want something with character to use as a base for cycling or exploring the area then La Cascade is perfect. It is literally right at the foot of Alpe D'Huez. 
We went as a family and had a one night stay with the Half board option which was very reasonable. 
We had a great room overlooking the terrace and the local mountains. The room was very quiet and quite large. The food was great for the price and all staff were very hospitable. I brought my road bike and climbed Alpe d'Huez before breakfast! Can't recommend this place enough. Well done Cascade and thanks for a great stay.

We stayed in this hotel for 3 days at the end of September 2015 it was the highlight of our 17 day trip to France, the room was spotless clean as was the bathroom we had chosen the half board option and were so glad we did the dinners were truly the best we have ever experienced in any hotel, the couple who managed the hotel ( not sure if they were the owners) were very pleasant and helpful full of advice on cycling up alp dehuez 
We will definitely return and hopefully next time for longer

Nice hotel in a good location with great bar and terrace for relaxing in after a hard days cycling also good for walking and climbing. My room was a good size and clean with free WIFI. But the best thing about the place was the food really interesting flavours. Should also say all the staff could not have been nicer with great advice about cycling and walking routes. Derek T

Very friendly and helpful staff, great location for a bike holiday and nice food. The rooms were clean and spacious. Good views. They have really good gpx routes around the area, good knowledge and support for cyclists. well recommended.

My husband and I stayed here for 5 days to go cycling in the nearby mountains. This hotel is very nice, it has everything you need for a cycling holiday. There is a very nice terrasse out front for enjoying a nice beer or a meal after cycling or hiking. It's a 10 minute walk outside Bourg d'Oisans so it's quiet and perfect. The owners of the hotel are very helpful giving you ideas for cycling routes. So, thank you very much for that! Also the rest of the staff was very nice. The food is good - perfect to be able to order lasagne after having cycled all day. The rooms are nice and clean, though as a cyclist we would have liked more power sockets for all our gadgets to be able to charge more things at the same time, and the wifi was rather slow in the room. But other than that everything was perfect and we had a great stay. I definitely recommend this hotel!
