We went to the French championship of pétanque in July, we ate four times, we were very well received, the food was delicious, the service was good, nothing to blame.

It was with pleasure that we returned to this charming place where calm and serenity reigned. A small, honest hotel away from the big chains/groups without souls. The parties are really pleasant, generous, human. The room is fully equipped, nothing is missing. The beach a few steps away is beautiful. The children loved it too. We will return as soon as possible.

You can't ask for more for this price. The reception is charming and professional by Mr. The bed is good even if it is badly it measures only 140 cm how is this possible in 2018!

For the price, it's very accurate.

We stayed there with our little boy of 3 years and our baby of 6 months, in a triple room, very good stay, the room was very nice and above all very friendly and attentive owners to our comfort, very good breakfast and the hotel is near the sea, we will return there without hesitation.

Triple room with our little boy. Home and nice little dej. No restaurant at the moment but sandwiches on the beach or a fancier restaurant 200 m. Very nice beach 100 m... what else to dream about?!

Right by the sea, simple and nice.

We spent three nights at the end of Jun.  We stayed in the apartment for three nights and stayed in the smaller triple room for one night.  The apartment is very spacious, with a balcony, fully fitted kitchen, separate bedroom and bathroom and large longe area with a single bed.  It was fully equipped and really good.  The smaller triple room was also good.  Good wifi, parking either in the back of the hotel or in the public car park next to the hotel.  The bar and restaurant was very quiet during our stay.  The food was great and we has two evening meals and two breakfasts.  As the restaurant was quiet you had to ask for what you wanted before the evening so it could be brought in.  We had great mussels and fantastic duck and a huge steak. The food is very good.  We liked the homely atmosphere. Other good restaurants can be found nearby in Carteret.  We will be back, ferry and exchange rates permitting. It is not a beach front hotel, but the beach is within 2 mins walk.  Only reservation was that we hoped for better weather and we found Barniville was very quiet.

This was to be my first stop after getting off Ferry in Cherbourg having made the booking on their website. I passed the place 3 times as I could not see anything like the photo on website so eventually turned on my data roaming and logged into google maps which brought me to the door. What I saw was not at all like the photo on website and to be honest didn't feel safe entering such a scruffy premises. The main door was locked and no doorbell or knocker. I went to Hotel Les Isles around the corner and had a coffee and sent Restaurant la Plaze an email saying I was there and could not get in. Over an hour passed before I got a reply to say they were open so I went around again and again could not get in I then went into the tabac shop next door and the lady there told me they open at 5pm. Naturally at this stage I did not know what was happening. Here I was with a paid booking standing outside the premises and could not get in. I was alone and frightened so decided the safest thing to do was go back to Hotel Les Isles and book in. Again I sent Restaurant la Plaze an email explaining how I felt and cancelled my booking. In fact I looked up their website again now and see a single room is €52 which I booked but they charged me €64 which is the price of a double room.Restaurant la Plaze refused to give me a refund. Not a great first impression of France

Not like the photo on website

We booked a room for one night in this b&b. The owners tried their best... the room is spacious, minimal and clean. The clean bathroom would need to be revised and fixed a little bit. For one night it's okay. Breakfast is not cheap, I recommend doing it elsewhere.

I stayed on a bike tour in may. I arrived dirty and hungry and this place was a great place to get clean, fed and relxed. Comfy rooms, excellent home cooked food and lovely people. Will be back again as soon as possible.
