Avoid this place at all costs !!! Absolute rip off when I arrived the bungalow was sub standard and absolute bare minimal supplied, I can accept its camping but a complete joke, the place was dusty and the shower was disgusting mouldy and stained, the shower curtain filthy under the beds was thick with dust and looked like a dog had been sleeping under it !  There is no WiFi despite the fact they advertise it and was requested several times to no avail ! 

It’s a beautiful looking place but don’t be fooled !  on check out the bungalow was inspected and the girl told me all was fine and to return to the office with key and get my deposit back and my passport  to which I was confronted by a Madame saying the place was dirty and demanded €45 for cleaning absolute disgrace and complete con, the place needs a dam good bleaching such a shame because the site looks great Avoid Avoid Avoid  

Had I not had a flight to catch I would have taken her there herself and showed her the hovel they overcharge for never again next time will be Camping Bodri just up the road that have great staff and immaculate  which I stayed in previously

Avoid at all costs

The Camping is quiet close to the beach and the bungalows are well arranged. A shop is be present, where you can buy things to cook, clean, sanitary products, croissants and baguettes, postcards and souveniers and so on. The village of Algajola is at a walking distance of 10 minutes. And I was really suprised about the camping, because some guests discribed the location as dirty. But this isn´t true. I can assume that´s trying for the employers to clean up the bungalows almost every day in the season, because guests are there sometimes just for one night and are leaving the follwing day to another camping. But the time we stayed there immediately after leaving the guests a cleaner was in the bungalow.

Nous voulons quittez 30 minute apres 12:00 avec notre camping car. le buraux etais fermez jusquas 15:00. Nous avons payez un extra charge pour une demi journee !!!
Attention extra costs if you do not check out bevor exactly at 12:00 a.m.  
Unfriendly service. Big discussion without compromise result because they had our passport. Office saved like a fortress , why??
Camping car attention: no water without extra costs. 100 litre for 5 € !!!!

This is a nice campsite. It is well maintained (Clean bathrooms, daily baked bread in the store...) It also has a nice beach and you can take a relaxing walk on a nearby hill, that offers you a nice view of the mountains, tha sea and the city of Algajola. Sure some other reviews say about an arrogant woman, but we haven't met her yet. We were welcomed by a nice man, that told us everything we needed to know. 


Camping de la plaga

We had spent the previous 2 weeks camping at (Camping le Bodri -which is amazing) in our tent and wanted to treat ourselves to a bungalow and beds for the last 3 nights since the weather had turned for the worse. Unfortunately Camping de la plage was only disappointing.

This place could have so much potential if it was properly managed, maintained and promoted but unfortunately the lady running this place is running it into the ground. She's beyond unfriendly and uncooperative.
We rented a mobile home for 4 days. It wasn't bad. However our problem is strictly with the way we were treated upon checking out. Until we wanted to leave we were NEVER informed beforehand that we had to clean the mobile home or we would be charged a €45.00 cleaning fee. So we cleaned it. When the lady from reception came to inspect she was so rude and insulting complaining how dirty germans are :-( She couldn't believe we put all the blankets we used on a pile so they could be cleaned. She was persistent that we had to just fold them and put them back on the shelf. She said they would not be cleaned. We were disgusted!! Anyways after battling with her for almost a half hour we realised that  she was willing to fight all day just so she could find any reason to charge us for the cleaning. We spoke to our neighbours who were also checking out and they had also cleaned and were still charged the €45.00. It seems this lady just wants to punish everyone.
So we decided to just pay and relieve our children from the terrible atmosphere.

Nowhere in Corsica were we treated so horribly. 
It's also no surprise that others here have also complained about the customer service. Nobody needs such a hassle during their holidays. So please just avoid this place and keep driving for 10km and go to Camping le Bodri. So much nicer. The beach is much better as well.

Keep Driving! Do not stop here!

We spent two night in mid September (the start of our week long camping trip to Corsica at Camping de la Plage.  

Pros:

Lovely site, hardly anyone there, camped under the shady pine trees opposite the tiny station platform that serves the site.  Walked across the single lane track to the lovely beach.  

There are some nice restaurants on the beach (though some had shut for the season).  It was also a really nice short stroll into Algajola which is a really cute little town with some lovely restaurants.

We chose this site as it was a short drive from Bastia airport where we flew in to and on the kind recommendation of people on the Corsica forum (thank you Paddy and Nancy).  The drive from the airport was gorgeous and a lovely gentle introduction to the beauty of Corsica.  There's a large area on the headland where lots of people stop to take in the view en route with a great little café selling homemade sandwiches.  This gave us a great introduction to Corsica (having to speak French, taking in the lovely views) so if you are driving from Bastia, I recommend it. 

The woman who we checked in with was lovely, she spoke very limited English (and I speak less French) but we managed to work it out.  The shop is pretty well stocked and again the lady in there was very friendly.  Personally I think you can wear down the typical Corsican rudeness with a persistently and relentlessly sunny disposition! In the end, they just give up and are nice to you.  There was a man constantly driving a little van about, sweeping up the pine needles but they weren't any bother.  

Cons:

Very few really.  The toilet block needs updating (and I didn't know before the trip that no Corsican campsites supply toilet paper and none of the toilets have seats!)  You can hear the little train through the night but it only runs every four hours or so and I quite liked it.  It is certainly a small price to pay to be able to hop on the train (the timetable is posted by the railway track) and pop into Calvi for the afternoon.

Lovely site - perfect location

Basically a dusty dirty piece of land next to a very noisy train line with nothing attractive about it.
The lady owner is the most unfriendly arrogant person met in Corsica .
She made me pay for a big tent when I was travelling solo on my bike... and did not give me the passport when I tried to pay at 11 o clock hoping it was going to take me more than 1 hour to leave the campsite and had to pay an extra day.
No electricity cable available when it was everywhere else , extremely expansive  for NO REASON at all.
Just do not waste your money there.
