This is really the perfect spot if you want to feel like you're *kinda* in the jungle but still like to have a tiny town to eat in and walk around. When you're in the lodge you can hear the river rumble past and the birds chirp. But it's also on a road (not busy at all but leads to the small town center) so if you're able to only come for a couple of days you don't  have to spend an entire day getting there. Anna and her husband have made a paradise here. Places to lounge outside, great breakfast (lunch and dinner you need to go to town for), and just in general a great vibe. I was happy just to relax and watch the river roll by but if you're into activities, Anna can hook you up no matter your budget. She told me what was good around that I didn't need to have a tour or a guide for. I loved it here! Also there are cats!!! They are pretty shy but will allow you to look at them and take pictures.

Perfection

Nice rooms with fan and AC. 
Friendly staff. Nice setting clase to the river.
Interesting garden. Nice breakfast.
The only thing is that is close to the road and it is not that quiet at night. 
We appreciated that there is also a shared kitchen usefull for special diet.
Recommended.

Nice place and garden

This was set in a wonderful location with access to the river you can swim in. The rooms were great and the hosts very helpful and friendly. Highly recommend this place. The garden was also stunning and breakfast was very good

2 nights at Banana Lodge

This is a very clean hotel right on the river in the Amazon. The breakfast which is included is excellent and the service is very good. Ana Is very good at finding could guides to take you to interesting cultural places. Excellent value! This is a short walk into town.

Banana Lodge Has Quality and Value

first place I found in Ecuador with very good price/quality ratio..... rooms very clean and comfortable, cozy and nice garden and structure, perfect location and professional staff. 
I definitely would recommend this place to those who are looking at good quality standard at very honest price.

very nice place

Stayed here two nights. Excellent breakfast, clean rooms where you can hear the sound of the river just behind. Breakfast really good with amazing fruit. Very friendly owners who take their time to inform you. Just one point of attention: make sure the rooms are insect proof, because there were big cracks above the doors and windows where every insect can pass through.

A hotel in Banos recommended Banana Lodge to us, and we are so glad that they did. The rooms are clean and airy and have everything you need. The gardens are lovely, and have some fascinating plants and flowers. And it is right on the banks of the river. Anna was a lovely host.
Breakfast was good, but evening meal is not available. But there is plenty of choice just down the road in town.
This hotel had the most comfy bed I tried out in Ecuador.

Lovely find

I have visited Mishaualli many times but this was the first time I discovered banana lodge. Lovely cabins set in beautiful gardens on the bank of the river. 
The place was spotless and I mean spotless- you could eat off the floor!!! There was no damp musty smell typical of other jungle lodges. Rooms were large airy and very comfortable. Good WiFi signal and cold beer!!! What more could you want?
Ana was a great host. 
Guests should note that evening meals are not available although there is a guest kitchen and fridge if you want to cook.

Spotlessly clean lodge is a beautiful location

Lovely place to stay. We came via a personal recommendation and were not disappointed. The accommodation was fabulous, spotlessly clean, beautifully appointed with lovely patios outside each room. Anna was a perfect host. Breaksafst was very good too. Excellent value.

Great find!

We stayed 1.5 weeks here and it was just to enjoy. Thanks Ana for this nice jungle experience and Tour from your lodge. In this time its really hard to find a accommodation where owner is still working in it. See you next time!!!
