Liked 
· The hostel is at the far end of Olmedo in the old town and thus relatively quiet.
. Beds have power outlets and have individual headlamps (no curtain).
. They have very comfortable seats in communal spaces.
. WiFi worked well.

Disliked 
· Whenever someone rings the bell, the dog starts barking. The acoustics in the patio amplify the noise. Guests do not get a key. Everyone has to ring the door bell.
. When I extended my stay at the counter I had to pay more than the price listed on the booking sites! Other hostels charge you less as they do not have to pay a commission. When I consequently booked online, they sent me an email to refer to their own website to receive a discount, but a discount not offered. Strange.
. Online prices vary, so keep track.
. The showers work with an electrical device, as a result: lukewarm water, or a hot trickle.
. Very strict rules. For instance you are not allowed to take a cup outside the kitchen area.

Still overall these are minor issues, except for the dog barking, which after four days made me decide to go to another hostel.

Pleasant and comfortable, except for the dog

This hostal is greate! The rooms are cleane and the personal was more than friendly. I feeld like a part of a big family. The breakfast was also very rich (eggs, juice, bread, jam, fruits, jogourth and coffe / tea). The hostal has a good location and was safe.

Greate Hostal!

Overall it was a nice place to stay and a good base for exploring the city centre. It was pretty quiet when I was there and the atmosphere was a little bit strange, but not bad as such.
 
The common room was locked at night — inexplicably, as it wouldn’t have really caused a noise problem even with more people, so I felt I had to go to bed when I didn’t want to. (It was raining so other options were limited.)
 
It’s in an attractive building and would definitely be a reliable option for anyone, so on balance I’d recommend it.

Don’t think I saw the best of it, but a safe bet.

We stayed for 2 nights before going to Cotopaxi and Mindo, and liked it so much we booked it again for 2 nights after. Traveling as a family with 2 adult teens. So helpful as host speaks perfect English, so helped to retrieve my gold necklace I’d left in Mindo, helped with change for taxi who wouldn’t take a 20 etc. Advised food options etc. Breakfast lovely, private double then quad spacious and clean. Just perfect, thanks for a brilliant stay! 

Fantastic hostel, excellent host 

We only had a brief stay here as we arrived in the evening and flew out of Quito early in the morning, but would highly recommend and stay again. The host was organized and ready for us, set up an airport shuttle for us, and the building was beautiful and clean. Loved being in the Centro Historico and spending the evening walking La Ronda. Even though it was a Saturday night, the hostel street was quiet and inside the courtyard it was peaceful. Loved being able to see the stars. Thanks for sharing this amazing space with travelers! Wish we could have been there longer!

Beautiful building, great service

Aaron is a super nice host and really helpfull. The rooms are really clean and a lot of space and you got hot showers! We had a really nice stay over here! And the breakfast is also really great. I would really recomend to stay here!
