Hidden away on a quiet peninsula across the bay from downtown, Galapagos Chalet has a feel of quiet, tropical seclusion in one of the town's most convenient properties. Located along the footpath leading to the iconic Las Grietas, you are literally only steps away from fine dining, a beautiful white sand beach, and the 24 hour water taxis ready to scurry you back over to the hustle and bustle of Puerto Ayora's touristic downtown. The rooms are spacious, have stunning water views off expansive private hardwood decks and include a small kitchenette for storing sundries and doing light cooking (a full kitchen is also available in the common area in case you wanted to do heavier cooking). Pilar, the owner and manager, treats each guest like family and makes herself available for your every need, from booking adventure excursions to recommending the best traditional seafood in town. My stay at the Galapagos Chalet was much more than a visit to a typical hotel or resort, it was like coming home to the most beautiful and nature-filled place on Earth. To quote The Terminator, "I'll be back"!
