Delicious breakfast, perfect view, the staff are very nice. 

Rooms are clean and spacious. 

A few things to keep in mind that didn’t bother me, but might be an issue: wifi may be unstable at times, i have my own plan so i didn’t care much. If you like TVs the one you get are quite tiny, again, that’s not an issue for me so i loved being there

They obviously understand the rooms are noisy and do supply ear plugs just in case you can’t sleep

Great location 

Beds were too hard for us.  Breakfast is very limited if you don’t eat eggs.  It is not worth paying extra for breakfast.  
We put out the tag on the door to have our room cleaned, but it was never cleaned.  A staff person came up and had a hair dryer, but we did not need one.  No phones, no elevator, no hangers in the closet and no safe.  The bathroom was very small and had no fan.  There is no mirror in the bathroom.  There is an old wood like vanity in the room.  There was no heat, but we were provided with a blanket and heavy comforter on the beds.  

We were close to many shops,restaurants, a balcony and view of the mountains and that is why I rated the stay a “2”.

Parking area for the car, partnered with the chiva for tours, good location, and friendly staff. Over all a good experience! Charges per person, not per room. So if someone in your party wanted their own space for the night, the price is the same.

Good Value

El flor del Oriente is a small hotel in downtown Baños where i with some friends spent a night
We went out for a walk, only to come back to bump into a very suspicious personel hurrying out of my room.
As I didn't hang the cleaning service card outside, he got so confused when i asked him what he was doing inside my room.
When this confrontation happened, the other crew member started acting so cheaply with me, even yelled at me.
It all looked good on the surface but i got a strong feeling that it was some sort of a gang.
God only knows what this guy was up to do in my room.

Be careful of this hotel 

Found out that the stuff has been into my room, without me hanging the cleaning service card, while i was absent!
Incredibly suspicious. And when i faced them, they yelled at me!
Absolutely scandalous.

I came here with my 20-something sons. The location was in a very central location, which was good for us, right across from a park and surrounded by restaurants. We found the staff extremely helpful and they were especially good with advice about the local steam baths. The rooms were basic, but adequate for our needs.

Good value for the price

Extremely friendly and helpful staff. They definitely saved us some big headaches.

They truly have an outstanding client service. I traveled with my wife. I drove to Banos from Cuenca and when mentioned the parking situation to the owner of the Hotel (it is hard to find parking in Banos during the Holidays), he gently offered to keep my car in his own home (because I said I was not going to use it while in Banos). He returned the keys to me the same day and brought the car back the night before I left because I was leaving early in the morning. The breakfast was delicious and always served on warm and on time. 

Keep in mind that Banos is not a town where you are supposed to stay inside a hotel at all times. For adventurous travelers that want a safe, helpful and clean place, they should consider this hotel.

 Flor de Oriente was VERY clean. Our room was cleaned every day. 

The location of the hotel could not be more ideal, you have easy access to restaurant and bars, banks, travel agencies for activities around Banos, easy access to transportation, and the market.

We stayed in a room on the back of the hotel, we did not have a good view but it was quiet at night. They offered to move us to the front of the hotel to have a better view but also let us know that it would be louder at night. We opted for the quiet place. The room was small but my wife and I traveled with only one suitcase and one backpack so were able to easily accommodate our belonging in the room. We didn't really care about the small size of the room because we came back only to nap or sleep safely at night.

I would highly recommend this hotel for cleanliness, outstanding staff, great location, and good breakfast.
