We stayed at Penzion Kaplanka for 5 days . Coming from Vienna Airport in out hire car took around 1 1/2 hr to get there . It's a fantastic old renovated building in the historic part of Znojmo. Limited parking spots are available so best to book a parking spot when you book the room . 
The staff are extremely helpful and some speak english , which is extremely useful as we don't speak Czech and the location is stunningly beautiful. Rooms are nice and clean . Breakfast is served every morning in communal area and super !
There is a wine bar out the back that opens nightly as well. 
We pretty much walked everywhere as the roads are not really roads just cobblestone laneways. All the historic sites , cafes , bars , breweries and restaurants you need are close by on foot so no need to drive anywhere. Also a couple of Bankomat ATM machines close by in the city square to grab some cash. 
Overall I highly recommend  staying here , but you really should spend at least a few nights at least to really get the full Znojmo experience.

Kaplanka

You won´t find better location in Znojmo. The owner was really kind and helpful. Fresh and tasty bfast. Spacious and clean apartment. There is a great wine tavern as well. You can sit outside and enjoy the astonishing view. 
When rent apartment 5, there is bed on the built ib floor. The wooden staircase could be a problem for some persons as well as the low ceiling. But it is not a con.

Amazing family hotel in Znojmo

This very atmospheric guest house has, as others have commented, great views and a lovely wine bar. It is very friendly and we really enjoyed the breakfast. Highlights for us included the pond/ swimming pool (which was bracing in April) and walking to the nearby Novy Hradek castle which combined great history and wildlife. 
We stayed as a family in one of the vaulted suites which was spacious, clean and quiet if quite basically equipped (self catering with 6 in there would be challenging). As it was right next door to the wine bar, we were concerned about noise but didn't hear a thing. 
Highly recommended!

Lovely accomodation, in interesting town and countryside

This pension is set back amidst a very tranquil neighborhood, close to one of the best views of the entire town. Beautiful, fresh, clean and lovely room and bathroom. Only thing missing is BBC or CNN English news channel on T.V. Decent breakfast and excellent staff. The gentleman (Manager? Owner?) even annotated a little map with great recommendations for wining, dining and doing. There is also an almost-hidden wine bar/cave onsite, too. No better first impression of Znojmo than at this excellent property.

Would give six stars if I could!

First class breakfest , clean room , placed in center of the city, nice ambient (staff are very kind and place is very nice ), great view and excellent "value for money paid".... great experience and i will go there again for sure.

Great place

pros:
My second stay there. The owner and staff were very kind and helpful. The locations is great. The old building is charming. Rooms are spacious. We stayed in double bedroom apt. Nr. 16 and 17 (2x2 sep. beds) with a dayroom, table and bathroom and toilet. The kitchen corner was great. And the apt. Nr. 2 with a double bed incl. Bathroom and toilet. The breakfast was okay. The owner kindly offer lactose free and gluten free bfast. Just tell him in forward. There is a wine cellar you can enter directly from the guesthouse ground. The St. Nicholas' Deanery Church, restaurants etc. are very close. Parking is no problem  which is great.  
cons:
We found some mildew in the bathroom apt. 16+17. A TV in the dayroom wold be nice. Even when there is a TV in each bedroom. My friends found ants in the apt. 2 (direct entrance to the yard) , but the owner solved the problem immediately.
