The best location as a starting point for all curacao activities. Very welcoming and helpful and tolerant. Everything is in the apartment, wonderful clean pools and grounds. You feel safe.Thanks Postma Drachten

Just good

My wife and I stayed at the Curinjo, Carawaraweg 84, for two months from 18 January 2018 until 15 March 2018. We stayed in one bedroom apartment #10. The resort appears attractive at first glance, but our experiences during our stay led to the following observations.
 Management Style. Instead of checking that a room is properly prepared for a visitor, management asks the visitor for a list of deficiencies that need correction. We listed about ten items. The first item was the sofa bed which was so lumpy that it was replaced by a new sofa. 
In the kitchen there was no counter space because the kettle, toaster and microwave took up all the working space. We asked for a table for the kettle and toaster and put the microwave on top of the fridge so we could actually use the counter to prepare meals.
The lighting was poor- we asked for the foyer light bulb to be replaced.  We noted later in our stay that the ceiling smoke alarm had died some years ago.
In summary, management downloads responsibility to identify deficiencies needing correction to the customer.  And deficiencies are not corrected unless the customer brings it to management’s attention.
Cleanliness. Inside the unit, the linens and towels were changed weekly and the tile floors are wet mopped clean with a cleaning solution. But several times the cleaning of bathroom and kitchen sinks was forgotten. Although the shower floor in the bathroom was mopped out, the shower walls never received a scrubbing.
The upper swimming pool near the office was cleaned weekly. But the swimming pool deck was dirty with stains. The drainage pipe for the pool’s outdoor shower was blocked, and discolored water backed up onto the deck where it dried. The second source of stains was the tanker truck which pumped out the septic tanks near the office monthly. When the pump hose was pulled back across the pool deck to the truck, it left a dribble of soiled water which also dried and stained the pool deck. We stopped using the upper pool when we saw why the pool deck was stained. A week before we left, the pool deck was scrubbed clean for the first time because a visitor complained.
The leaf and flower blossom litter from flowers and trees on the hotel grounds was swept up and removed only once during our stay.
A Theft. On the evening of our arrival we were met by Astrid K who is actually a former employee/manager who lives in the house next door at Carawaraweg 86. While an employee, Astrid became best friends with Dana B the manager and part-owner of the resort. Consequently, Astrid as a friend often steps in to help Dana. 
Now the resort staff work from 08:00 until 17:00 hours daily, after which they go home. On the evening of our arrival, Astrid volunteered to meet us so that Dana did not have to stay at work or return from home to show us our room and give us the keys.
A week after arrival, my wife asked me for her shopping money, US$800 dollars. I unlocked my suitcase and was stunned that I could not find the envelope with the money. It was gone.
So we met with the manager Dana B. Because our unit had not been broken into, Dana recognized someone working inside the hotel had done it.  She asked for time to check all the employee schedules, and who would have had opportunity. When we met her again Dana told us only four people had access to the keys to our room, herself, the new alternate manager, the cleaning lady and Astrid K.  But she offered no answers and advised us to report the matter to the police. 
So on February 16th, 2018 we reported it to the police. The policeman contacted Dana B and Dana confirmed to him that only four persons at the hotel had access to the keys, and that the theft was from inside the resort. 
My wife and I gave thought to opportunity. During the day, there was no opportunity to be alone with opportunity to steal because all the staff, managers, cleaners and maintenance workers are present on the premises. Moreover, our suitcases were always locked except for the first evening, and we ourselves were present through most of each day also.
But on the evening of our arrival Astrid was the only staff member present because the resort staff had gone home already. After being shown our room and receiving our keys, we set to work unpacking our suitcases. We were in the midst of this activity when Astrid reappeared and told us that if we wanted to buy any food at the nearby grocery store, we should go now because the store would soon close. We were less than half unpacked so we left our cases open, locked our door and drove our rental car to the store. We had thought all would be safe because our room was locked and the hotel is gated.
So on careful reflection, we realized it was Astrid K who had opportunity to check our open suitcases while we were out shopping. Nonetheless we have no evidence that she was responsible for the theft, but we can say that she was the only person with clear opportunity.
In our discussions with Dana, she never thought to ask us our schedule. In the following evenings after our arrival until the time we discovered the money was missing, we were always present in our apartment.
We asked Dana B for compensation from the resort. She left this decision to the other two part-owners, one of whom is her husband Vincent. He met with us and told us no hotel in the world would compensate us for our loss. In a state of denial he stood by his employees, and Astrid as a friend, saying that he didn’t believe any one of the four was responsible for the theft.  But in a gesture of good will, he agreed to refund our US $300 dollar deposit to cover water and electricity use during our stay. That was the final outcome to our stay.

Not as good as it looks

We stayed in december, and had a really great time in curacao

The apartment we had was perfect, clean, and everything was in there, including my all time favorite, a coffee maker!

It has 3 pools, not huge pools but more then good enough, our apartment and porch were looking out on one of the pools, we could almost walk right in after the morning coffee :)

The manager, Astrid, was very friendly, even gave us a few extra beach towels, and showed us what to do and where to shop, and a supermarket turned out to be on walking distance, so we got our groceries and cooked at home some evenings

Curacao also has a few really good restaurants, I recommend mambo beach, and the governor, great view. 

The manager also helped us renting a car, for a good price, you really need a car if you want to see the whole island, the Lagun area is beautiful and more green then the rest of the island
Westpunt is also very nice to go, quiet, but really relaxed.
jan Thiel beach, and Mambo are amazing, but more toursit, but the Dolphin Academy, where you can swim with dolphins. .. amazing !

There are some amazing quiet beaches on the other end of the island as well

On Curinjo overal, great small resort, wonderful service and highly recommended.

It is not a hotel to recommend. I went to stay a few days but I had a very bad experience. I was robbed inside the hotel. a thief entered the dawn through the window of the apartment and stole my wallet and my wife's bag with documents and money from both. no security at night. We had to wait until after 9 am the next day for someone to show up and do something. Worst of all were the answers: "They are not responsible for what happened ... you closed the window wrong, do what you want." So my recommendation: find another safer and responsible hotel

The Curinjo resort consists of several small houses and apartments. There are only 22 apartments. It has two swimming pools and a paddling pool for children .
The facility is well maintained and clean.
For safety there is a fence with an electric gate. At night is a security on site.
It is about 3 km or 5 minutes by car to Mambo Beach .
Nearby there is a well stocked supermarket ( Vreugdenhil ) .
However, it is advised to hire a car as the resort is not directly on the beach .
The owners help you with ordering a cheap rental car.
