Convenient location very close to bus station. But this is all that is good with this place.
Run-down, crumbling down, building in gloomy port area. Third floor with high ceilings and no elevator (technically the space to install one at the center of the staircase is available). Very poor everything inside: old and uncomfortable beds, basically no furniture, lack of any storage spaces and of any space to unfold your suitcase, worn-out wallpaper, no night or reading lights, bed sheets so worn out that were full of holes. Very poor bathroom: non-working shower (but the price of the room was for one WITH shower), very tiny space around washbasin: even shaving was hard. Towels provided only after request. No place to hang a towel in bathroom, not even a nail hammered on the walls! Door from bathroom to outside hallway (locked, obviously) without door handle and with toilet paper filling the holes to prevent peeking in! Annoying noise from washing machine located in hallway next to room. 
All this for an outrageous price of 66 EUR/night.
My wife argued with the manager until she got 20 EUR back, but honestly this place is not worthy more than 10 EUR/night.
They claim free wifi throughout the place but there was none.

The worst lodging I've ever been in.

We stayed in the private room. It was comfortable and clean. The hostess was so nice and friendly, and she made sure we were happy with everything. Be prepared for a long walk up the stairs. There is no elevator. We would definitely stay there again.

Great staff

We were booked into a 12 bed mixed dorm and they definitely squashed another bed in there, it was very crowded on the first night. She gave us some towels which was nice because they didn't offer them, the lady was very friendly and was really really helpful with recommending beaches and cheap places to eat. Up four flights of stairs with no lift, very calm and friendly atmosphere, extremely relaxed. Sometimes hard to sleep because of the proximity of the beds to eachother. Everything was clean though.

Tight fit room

If you arrive by bus to the bus station then you are on top of the hostel, if you arrive by train then you have a 5 minute walk to the bus station.

When we stayed it had much scaffolding outside but still a big sign on the front.  Loads of steps take you up from street level to the hostel.

The Manageress was friendly and helpful with good English (be advised she has only worked there since march so previous reviews about staff attitude was about someone else).  She was very chatty and friendly throughout our stay and helped us out with local information.

The hostel itself is quite run-down to the point that although it was the cheapest I could find in the area, it was still to expensive.  We read reviews about a 12-bed dorm, I can tell you that it is now a 14-bed.  This is the room we stayed in and it was poorly laid out (windows very hard to access)the lockers were cupboards, some already locked from ages ago and some with no lock fastener.  The beds were rickety but comfortable.

The balcony (the only route to the front door) was also the smoking area.  The Manageress lives onsite so I was happy with security.

During our whole stay we were the only guests which made it a very peaceful stay.  I don't think the dorm we stayed in would have been as comfortable full.  I didn't realise it at the time because the place was so quiet but there was no common area either.  When full this would make the place feel very overcrowded.

I would stay gain but not for long.   Other than the fantastic location, the manageress was the only saving grace for me.

One night only.  Good receptionist, dated rooms

I rented a car from Rijeka airport in Krk island, drove a bit there before going to the city. Even though it seems to be "centrally located", I found it really hard to find, with only small sign on the building. And of course nobody knew where it is. After 1 hour of driving inside the city I finally found the hostel. It was night. I was tired from the flight and driving, and there was 6 flights of stairs waiting for me. Fortunately the staff was really nice and showed me the good places in Rijeka. I went into the room with 12 bed or something and there were 2 other people. They have insufficient power plugs. Only around 2-3 plugs for the whole room. I didn't bother to take a shower because it was cold. I personally would never visit this hostel again.
