What can I say? I was looking for an affordable and chill spot in Santa Teresa - Mal Paìs on a little surfing trip and I found Star Mountain. The setting is jungle perfection with lush flora and fauna, the swimming pool is clean and refreshing. The room was super clean and the staff were very pleasant. I followed the advice about needing a 4X4 and am happy I did because the place really is tucked in the jungle and it’s a tiny adventure getting there, which I loved! 5 stars ⭐️ 

Jungle chill.

I adored Star Mountain! Super silent, private and peaceful. Amazing pool surrounded by the most beautiful jungle. Nice and comfortable rooms, and super reasonable prices. Perfect if you are looking to get away from loud streets and relax in a quiet ambience. Lovely staff.

A hidden gem in the jungle!

I absolutely loved my stay from start to finish. Prices were reasonable, and I expected decent customer service for the money, but I was joyfully surprised at receiving top-tier service that one normally can only expect at overpriced establishments. The location is great and the lodging itself was spacious, comfortable, and clean. As my headline says, I am definitely coming back. 

I can't wait to return!

What a haven in the jungle! Sabine and her daughters truly rock this hidden beauty deep in the forest - yet just a quick drive away from Santa Teresa and Mal País. Fantastic breakfast, kids friendly and simply gorgeous to all nature lovers. We‘ll be back for sure!

Gorgeous Hideaway!

What a fun place to stay!  The staff was amazing....so kind and helpful.  We enjoyed getting to know them and the rest of the guest staying there.  Waking up every morning to the sounds of monkeys and the rest of the wildlife will be something I won’t soon forget.  The location is great and not too far from the action of Santa Teresa and Montezuma.  Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Loved staying in the jungle!

We loved Sabine‘s place! It’s a huge beautiful, well treated Garden with a refreshing pool in the middle. You are surrounded by jungle noises, especially from the howler monkeys. The rooms are big and super clean! The breakfast is fantastic and Sabine is really nice and helpful! We didn‘t want to leave and extended our stay! Paradise on earth!

Paradise on earth

If you love nature and tranquility then this is the place for you. Long driveway up to it in the jungle where great host, swimming pool surrounded by jungle and birds, not to mention bats swooping over it while swimming at night. Breakfast excellent, rooms comfy. The horse ride was great ( and fast in my case as Flor very speedy) and a good way to see the local beach. Only limited rooms there so cosy and friendly. Would strongly recommend a stay of 4 nights minimum. A 4 wheel drive definitely useful as the roads are rough, dusty and have small river crossings though some people managed in cars.

Stunning

We stayed 3 days in this beautifully located lodge and loved it. Sabine is an awesome host, she took care that we feel like home. It is located middle in the jungle with a beautiful pool and garden. The rooms are super comfortable and warmly decorated. The breakfast was excellent. If you want to avoid the business of Santa Teresa but still stay close to the beach, I absolutely recommend this place. I guess you need a car to go anywhere, but it might be that they even take you. We had a car and it was perfect! The only down was that we could not stay longer and go horse riding, as they also have horses there :-)

Amazing accomodation in the jungle close to Santa teresa

We spent some really relaxing days at Star Mountain Jungle Lodge! The pool area is very nice and in the surrounding jungle we saw monkeys and other different animals. Also nice beaches for surfing and swimming can reached afer a short drive by car.
Our host who only recently took over has a great eye for details and decoration. Also, she served a fantastic breakfast in several courses. Fully recommended!
