Arriving in Palomino at the main road from Santa Marta you can go to the left and go towards the beach. More in that direction you come in an increasing touristic chaos of restaurants and pensions. If you go from the main road to the right, you aer at the quiet side of town and just at the edge of the jungle there is the Jaguar Azul in a beautiful garden. Rooms come out in the garden and are nice and comfortable. Breakfast is very good and owner Valentina is very helpful (speaks English) and knows a lot about both touristic possibilities and backgrounds.

Be there is just amazing, Roland is an amazing owner and we feel like at home. Just the perfect place and his breakfast is super.
I really recommend to go there if u really want to appreciate and understand what  Palomino is.

What a paradise!

I was with a friend visiting palomino and first we went to dreamers hostel but we really didn't like it there. So we switch places and went to jaguar Azul and I'm so glad we did. The place is beautiful and the owners are the most friendly people! Next door they had the best brownies. And it was really close to the river. The surroundings are beautiful, its quite and local. We loved it!! I would really recommend everybody who doesn't like to be around too many tourists to go here. It's the perfect place to relax or do a hike in the mountains. 

The best place in palomino

We stayed at jaguar azul and felt absolutely welcome and got this 'at home' feeling. The owners are very helpful and it is a great place when you want to escape the many backpackers in the street leading to the beach. At Jaguar Azul you get a more authentic experience of Palomino. I had some troubles with my stomach and the owners adviced me to drink tea from Basil from their garden (which really worked well!), there is an amazing view on the mauntains (even from the shower!:)) And the neighbour sells the most amazing home made brownies!

Great getaway from the backpackers overflow

The Hostel is a 15 Min. walk away from the beach and close to the river. It has a relaxing atmosphere with a beautiful huge garden and a very nice kitchen area. Everything is really clean an it is very quiet at night. The owner is very hospitable and cares a lot about his guests. I really enjoed staying there and recommend the hostel to anybody wjo wants to relax so,e days and wants to be close to the nature.
