We stayed here a few nights in July 2016. We stayed in a private room which was very clean and enjoyed the safety. We enjoyed meeting new people in the bar in the garden, which had a very nice waiter who made excellent gin tonics and mojitos! It was a nice size that you could get to know everyone there and not too many young backpackers types, we were all in our 20s and got to know each other.

We were there when the hostel has Polo which made our trip even better, coming home every day after exploring to a little puppy but we saw on his instragram he had disappeared so sorry for your loss guys!

Such a friendly place, not a crazy backpacker hostel

Arthur, Marina, and Sandra are great.  Arthur took me to this place on his motorcycle as I didn’t like the other properties.

I chose a room with private bathroom overlooking the garden.  Spacious room but nowhere to hang towels or toiletries.  Clean with ants on the floor.  Maybe 10/day.

That room can be noisy at night fr people at bar and garden.  

Friends of mine moved out other property too and had bed bugs here.  I have bites on my ankles which could be bed bugs.

Breakfast is awesome:  huevoes, toast, fresh fruit, and blended jugo.  Coffee too which I didn’t enjoy and purchased nearby at panderia.

Close to Pabladp plaque, metro, restaurant, exiting supermarket.

Location location location!

Great hosts.

Great location but....

The hostel itself was in a great area and we could walk to bars in the el poblado district really easily (would recommend Blue House restaurant up the road for a cheap menu of the day and friendly staff). 

We did find however that some of the staff were unfriendly, but the majority were happy to help with anything. In particular the chef for the breakfast was lovely and helped with Spanish pronunciation. 

We stayed in a private room which was fairly clean and the shower was amazing. The bar area was very quiet but nice. 

Overall a mixed stay.

Mixed feelings

Seldom would I bother to write a negative review and I'm not saying this isn't without good points. The rooms are clean and the kitchen well equipped, the bar can be great fun on an evening too. However, for me the overwhelming memory of this hostel was the complete lack of interest and borderline rudeness showed by the reception staff during the day. I honestly felt like my stay was an inconvenience to them, and by the end would avoid asking them for help or assistance. 

Mixed

We got a dorm room, and after our bags had been in the room for roughly 6 hours, we went back in to find bed bugs EVERYWHERE!!!
There were massive bugs and small bugs and everything in between!!
When we told the staff they acted concerned but they refused to give us trash bags to conceal our backpacks (as a last ditch effort).
They moved us to a new room but kept that room open to the rest of the hostel.
One bed bug in your bag and you could completely infest another hostel! I just hope there weren't any bugs that got into our bags.
