Grand Metropark Guofeng Hotel Tangshan

The Grand Metro Guofeng hotel is located just outside the city center on the banks of an artificial lake. The hotel was built in 2011 with roughly 300 rooms. It is a State-run hotel with an attractive price level. The standard rooms are spacious with over 30 m2 in size. These rooms are well appointed, offering a good comfort. The design is rather peculiar kitsch which is fancied by Chinese customers. The furnishing includes a large desk and a recliner. The bathroom is separated by a glass partition. The view into the bathroom can be covered with a blind. The bathroom is equipped with a shower and a freestanding bathtub. A kettle, two free bottles of mineral water and fresh fruits are placed in the room. WiFi worked perfectly. The breakfast is rich. It is offered at the price of USD 10.-. Only on weekends as dinner buffet is offered. The restaurant is tastefully furnished and elegant. The dishes were all tasty. The price level is fair, the service is excellent. An atrium coffee shop and bar with oversized marble statues is located next to the lobby. Around the hotel is nothing worthwhile to be explored except the lake promenade. The nearest shop or restaurant is located in about 3 km distance from the hotel. The Grand Metro Guofeng is a good address in Tangshan. The comfort is equivalent to 5-star, but officially declared it is a 4-star hotel.
