I spent only one night in this hotel. The lobby and sitting area was average but my single room (bathroom ensuite) was brilliant and comparable to a 5 star bedroom with all amenities, very clean, big comfortable bed, big tv, etc. At 300 RNB per night, i doubt one could get anything better anywhere else. Location is about 25 minutes by taxi to the main attraction - the West Lake. I would definately stay here again.

Room almost like a 5 star

Stayed for 2 nights with hardly any air conditioning and a most uncomfortable hard bed. Complaints fell on deaf ears until you have to practically shout at them. Finally gave us a new room but on checking was just as bad so stayed put &they gave us a fan. Irony was, the staff 
"advised" me to close the curtain to not let in any light & the air con will do a better job.

There was no safe box in the room &the hotel's is located in the staff quarter with a few flimsy box. Reckoned our locked luggages will be a better alternative to those. We understand it's summer and obsolutely hot outside, but does the staff have to move in a snail pace?

Anyway to cut long story short, service was bad, same breakfast for two days, staff Ill informed and never will we patronize this hotel again.

Nice From Outside

On a tour of China, staying in 3-star hotel, this was one of the better ones. The rooms were in better condition, the bathrooms were cleaner, and the staff more helpful. The location is quite central in Hangzhou, within easy walking distance to the West Lake, bakeries and bar/restaurant areas. However, it can be a bit confusing, as it is located just off the main road, and the easiest way to cross the street/river is through one of those underground passageways (with poor signage, or lack of English signage anyway), and we routinely took the wrong exit. Hangzhou is one of the more laid-back and pleasant cities in China, so walking around at night was fine. This is a bit closer to a Western standard hotel, although hard beds still prevail.

because of the rain we only ventured out for food & fresh air. the magnificent westin lake nearby was un doable . great shopping centres nearby for food & shopping. great buffet breakfast. good value. rooms very clean, staff freindly & bar area very welcoming

one night in hangzhou & it poured down

Good location.  Internet facilities are fast.  However, if you cannot be connected, most likely is their cable fault.  Staff wise are of 2 extreme attitutde.  Few staff are responsive and good, others, please check it out yourself.  My experience is unfavourable over there during my stays.
