- checked in took 45 mins because front desk constantly denied that we book 2 nights with breakfast which was stated on the reciept which none if them can read

- went into the room and found that room was not even clean up yet with YSED CONDOMS & TISSUE PAPERS on the floor, left over food all over the room. Must be some kind of animals that has stayed there 

- worst breakfast with no top up of food even just after 8.30am!!! 

- finally ask front desk to order a taxi for us to the railway station and guess what, the front desk guy told us to carry our luggages and out 4 year old kid to the main road to hail one 😡

WORST HOTEL EVER!!! 

Dirtest room, lousy attitude 

Booked a standard queen room through Agoda. Room is small but cozy. Window is faux window. On agoda, it's stated as 4 stars hotel but seems like 3 stars. Reception area is really small and basic, with a security guard. Basic amenities such as towels, toothbrush, hair dryer are available. Free Wifi is slow and breaks often. They do help to keep luggage if flight is later than 12pm. Location is 10mins walk away from edge of famous west lake. Nearby the hotel, there are restaurants and marts available too. 

Customer service is lacking. I check in around 11pm, receptionist is not friendly. When I reach my room, I had difficulty plugging my adapter in to charge my mobile so I went downstairs to ask for local adapter, the receptionist said that they don't have it. A 4 stars hotel don't have a single adapter? Then she told me that if I need to charge my mobile phone, I can purchase a powerbank using alipay and she went back to typing on her computer with a blank look. She just check me in 15mins earlier so I thought she'd know I'm not China tourist. International tourists can't use alipay or wechat pay. I thought their service and knowledge is really lacking. 

When I went back to my room and finally settled my charger, I realise the aircon isn't ventilating well and the room is stuffy. I had to call a few times to reach their housekeeping. I'd say for a late check in, all these problems really add on to frustration.

Decent Clean Room, Convenient Location but Lacking Customer Service

Hotel is located in a good location (very close to West Lake) and rooms are clean looking and pretty spacious (especially the twin bedder that we booked). However, one of the rooms that we booked had a strange sewage smell which housekeeping tried to get rid of by using some air freshener (which didn't help). Twin bedder had no door to partition it from the ensuite bathroom and caused some awkwardness between my brother and me who is sharing one room. Deposit could be placed with international credit card which was a relief as the Pizza Hut that was close by didn't accept international cards.

Spacious and well-located hotel but need improvements

We spent 1 night stayed in Ruiju hotel and it was an unpleasant staycation actually. The most hilarious part was that this hotel didn't accept international credit card. The front desk staff don't bother to explain that their hotel only accept local China credit card or bank card but being rude with impolite tone saying that our credit card has problem and couldn't read by the machine. Can you imagine that global credit card such as Citibank was being rejected when traveling to China, what a surprise! We were not told when making hotel booking online. Furthermore this hotel didnt provide 'call taxi' service as well. Traveller has to manage it themself. And the wifi connection in the hotel room is poor. Definitely will not revisit Ruiju hotel again! We could get better service in other hotel within the same area with the same amount of prices!

Terrible service and attitude staff

The hotel is well located at the city and near to Westlake. It was newly built and facilities were clean. However, the staff spoke very minimal and poor English, which is not very ideal for tourists who cannot converse in chinese. Furthermore, the hotel could not accept my international visa credit card; I was told very rudely that the hotel guests were all tourists from China and they did not have international guests, and hence could not accept overseas bank cards.

Not ideal for international travellers

This is a good clean hotel and only a ten minute stroll to the lovely West Lake. Our rooms were small but comfortable and clean and had a great bed..hot water was great..and a fridge and tv. Wifi is fast and free. Only complaints were that the window was fake..the breakfast was good but no coffee..and they charged extra for breakfast for the second person in a double..strange! It must be a Chinese thing. Eating fried eggs with chop sticks is challenging so take your own knife and fork. Try nearby xin bi lou restaurant..good value.
