Our stay at the James Thompson was great in every way. The location, the breakfasts, the room, and Guitta was a pleasure to meet and talk with. We enjoyed interacting with other guests. The parking was helpful and the knowledge of the city from Guitta and Claude made our stay better.

Great Stay at the Maiison Historique James Thompson

The rooms have a rustic feel as expected.  A very clean B & B with an updated bathroom. Onsite parking.  Guitta is a lovely host and makes a delicious hot breakfast.  We were made to feel at home from the moment we arrived.  A perfect location to walk through the old part of Quebec City.   We look forward to returning again one day.

Old Quebec City -Inside the Wall

Guitta was a wonderful host! She was very friendly and welcoming.  The location was perfect to walk into town and explore Quebec City! Our room had lots of natural light, comfortable beds and a pedestal tub. The Inn itself has an eclectic mix of decor, including lots of plants which give it a homey feel.  The breakfasts were delicious and filling.  We wholeheartedly enjoyed out stay!!

Wonderful stay!

The Innkeeper was very attentive to all guest needs, and served the best breakfast ever! She even peeled the grapes in the fruit bowl. The location was excellent - close to the center of the historic old town, but on a quiet side street. The bed was very comfy with high quality linen. Parking was available. The B&B was very historic and furnished with an eclectic mix of functional faux antiques

 · The combination shower/ bathroom reminded me of my sailboat, but it was large enough to work fine.

Great choice for experiencing old Quebec City

My husband and I, and our daughter recently stayed six nights at this charming B&B.  My husband and I had the downstairs bedroom and our daughter had a room on the second floor. The beds were very comfortable.  The decor is eclectic and very nicely done and each room is different. Breakfast was wonderful with juice, fresh fruit, freshly baked croissants, choice of eggs, crepes or French toast, bacon or sausage, and coffee. Guitta is a gracious hostess who will converse with you about anything and everything. The location is ideal for visiting Quebec City and within walking distance of most of the attractions. There is also onsite parking, which is included in the cost, for maybe four cars which is great as parking in the city is at a premium. I highly recommend this B&B and would definitely stay there again.

Excellent Stay

We spent only one night here...this past Monday...on a short trip to Quebec City. Lovely and charming old home, and Guitta, a wonderful owner and hostess. The location is great...on a quiet side street just a short walk from 'downtown'.  This place is a find...(:

Wonder B & B in perfect location

Had a great 4 night stay here with my family.  Guitta and Greg are kind and gracious hosts and the breakfasts were wonderful.  Guitta even got up early the day of our departure (5:00 am) and sent us on our way with fresh warm croissants, a truly nice gesture and finish to our visit.  

Because the hotel is historic it means the stairs are narrow, if there are any mobility issues be sure to talk to the owners so they can do their best to accommodate you.

Would absolutely stay here again and the location is fantastic.

Wonderful Historic BnB

Easy to find. Bed huge and very comfortable. Hosts welcoming and interesting. Breakfasts to order and terrific. Fresh fruit and croissants. Shower in Poets room unique.

Great place.

Stayed here for 2 nights. The host and hostess are so charming and welcoming. Greg gave us wonderful suggestions of places to see and restaurants to eat at. The breakfast is included and the best to eat. Our room was so comfortable and unique. The location is perfectly situated in the old section of the city close to the citadel. Everything was in walking distance. Could not have asked for a better place

Charming historic B&B

Based in the Center of Old Quebec,I was at ease immediately. it was comfortable,I had the feeling to be at home. A wonderful bathroom and a excellent Breakfast.
The host was extremely knowlegable on what to do and see.
