Big bar ranch was the perfect play to stay for our fishing trip to the surrounding lakes. The staff was very friendly and the cabin met all of our requirements. The location and the surrounding views and sunsets were excellent

Excellent stay at cabin 1

Very good service and friendly staff, good communication and great rates. The food was excellent and definitely prepared by a chef ! If you are looking for a location away from the grid and don't mind horses and mountain views , this is the place .

Accommodation during adventure motorcycle ride

We had a wonderful time at Big Bar, from horseback riding to eating delicious food, canoeing and hiking, visiting the cute farm animals, and relaxing in our cozy cabin during a thunder storm. The staff were wonderfully friendly hosts, and you can't beat the scenery. We would love to come back. Thank you so much, Elyse and Jenna!

A fantastic family getaway

Top event for us was a one hour horse back ride with Jenna.  She was perfect with our grandson who is very nervous of new experiences - she gave us lots of information about the ranch and surroundings.  The two meals we had were awesome!  All the different animals kept us all entertained. The accommodation was good - our grandson loved having his own loft.  This would be the place to come to relax and enjoy the outdoors!! Many cancelled because of the wildfires but no fires were too close - those who cancelled missed out on a great experience!!

Unfortunately only able to stay one night!!

This is the ninth time we've come to Big Bar, staying a week at a time and we were warmly welcomed back.  The beauty of the surroundings, the excellent horses and the helpful and informative staff all keep us coming back.  We brought our 5th wheel and they hooked us up with electricity to power our air conditioner, so needed during this hot weather.  Jennifer, our primary wrangler, was simply awesome, taking us to places that we hadn't ridden previously.  We also rode with Charlie as wrangler, a lifelong rancher from down the road who shared many stories of the history of the area.  The riding was excellent and personal, usually only my husband and I riding together with the wrangler.  Lots of wildlife - deer, sandhill cranes, hawks and coyotes - the latter at a distance!  While the province had a lot of wildfires, this valley was clear of smoke and fire.  The ranch animals were fabulous - from the dogs keeping us company on our rides, to the very young kittens who loved to be cuddled.  This is such a special place to relax and recharge, with other guests being welcoming and friendly as well.  Children love it here - it became a routine to give the kids our left over salads and food they could feed to the pigs and goats.  The ducks followed us around and even the chickens were friendly!   We will be back again for another week next year - and are already looking forward to it.

Absolutely amazing & unique place!  Great horses; great staff & awesome views!

We just got back from an amazing family vacation. The staff and wranglers are amazing and so knowledgeable. We went with another family and stayed in a 3 bedroom cabin. The kids loved climbing the ladder to get to there rooms upstairs. The horses were amazing and so gentle. And the meal program was very tasty!!!
Don’t forget bug spray if you go in the summer, but the front office has some too. Totally did not affect our trip negatively. Loved every minute.

Unforgettable family vacation

Wanted to give my highest praise to the staff at Big Bar Guest Ranch for accommodating a massive crew of heavy construction workers over the past months. Rachel and Elise were so friendly and accommodating, making sure we all had what we needed. The rooms were comfortable and the food was absolutely amazing. Plenty of activities to do in the afternoon, from horseshoes to canoeing and fishing. I will be back with my family. Thank you and hope to be back soon!

Great bunch and friendly too. One of BC's most beautiful destinations. The air is clean the views are grand and we can not wait to visit again.

One of BC's most beautiful destinations

My husband and I spent a wonderful week at the Big Bar in October 2019. We stayed in Cabin 3 and loved the quiet and the horses waking us up in the morning as they grazed around our cabin. The weather was great, it snowed but it melted within a couple of days. We opted to eat in the dining room and our food was plentiful and delicious. It was great to go back to our own little cabin to sit by the fire and relax each evening. The staff made our stay so special, we will definitely be back as soon as we can. 

The perfect place to unwind and unplug.

My daughter and son in law chose Big Bar Ranch for there wedding and the whole venue was full of family and friends
Everyone at the ranch was friendly and inviting and went out of there way to make sure everyone was happy 
The rooms and cabins where comfortable with new beds and linens and towels
And the food was fabulous 
This is a family style setting and it was great to get away from technology for a few days
My grandkids loved the animals on the ranch and there was a great lawn and playground for them to play on
The large fire pit was well used and enjoyed 
If you want to get away and unplug and unwind then I highly recommend Big Bar. Alyssa and Josh  thank you so much for all of your hard work and warm welcome
