The inn is a historical beauty full of interesting objects with a hostess to match!!Faith is direct and i like that style of talking so we had a great experience.Spent a night in a chintz flowery room certainly not been surrounded by as many flowers before!!Breakfast was a Victorian history lesson and why ever not we were in a time capsule after all!!You could nick pick about a few points such as room is not super clean, but remember its all about the experience we are still talking about it on our return home.

Quirky historical Inn!!

The inn is awesome - quite a history for a place that is almost 150 years old.

We loved the decor of our room but found quite a few shortcomings including a dreadfully soft bed (had trouble getting out so soft it was), one bath towel for the two of us, no soap or shampoo for the shower.

The breakfast, although ok was mostly cold food (muffins, fruit, cereal, etc.) with dollar pancakes. We found the host Faith to be a pleasure and wish her best of luck as she is retiring in a few weeks.

A little disappointed in our stay and hopefully a few improvements will bring this great place to the level it deserves.

Nice Inn but a few shortcomings

While some people found Faith's Victorian program off-putting, we rather enjoyed this feature of our visit. Her "rules" (e.g.: door slamming) are common courtesy too avoid disturbing guests and her I suppose. Room might have been cleaned a little better, but due to health issues Faith has been using outside help and perhaps it shows. Enjoyed sitting with her over breakfast and talking about the area, attractions, etc

Victorian experience, pleasant host

The room was large and bright and furnished in the style of the Victorian age.  This former ship's Captains home makes a delightful B&B.  Faith, our hostess, is a quirky little lady with a great sense of humor and rhythm.  She plays her music and dances on the front stoop or walkway and, I realize, is a local legend.

Cant understand the negative reviews.  Faith was very welcoming and willing to help. Within 10min of arriving she was offering to make dinner reservations and making suggestions on area  activities. This is one of the few B&B's we have stayed at where the hostess takes a personal interest in her guests stay.  It was nice being able to meet with other guests over breakfast versus typical restaurant style seating. Stayed in room on may room (Queen Anne) with private bath and beautiful furnishings. 
Parking was on the road in front of residence which we found a bit of a pain

Great Visit

At first you feel like running away because the manager welcomes you with very strict interior regulations to follow. Beautiful Victorian house well decorated and furnished. Large comfortable room, very clean. Tiny TV. For continental breakfast (nothing exceptional) you wait for your turn in the living room. The time and duration of breakfast, the use of blankets and dishes meet the so-called Victorian rules. As soon as you rest your cup or cover everything is removed. You go from romantic music to rock 'n' roll that sees the guest shudder in the hall. At the moment of departure, Faith, the host, embraces you as an abstract friend. For her, the strange quality of the B&B behaviour is so great that you take away the B&B to the second degree.

Charming B&B but weird host

We spent a night in this little jewel. The whole house will be entertained with much love and commitment. Faith the owner has already welcomed us with open arms and led us through her little kingdom. Everything is clean and well maintained and you almost feel like in a dollhouse. Order and purity are highly respected and little rules are observed. Faith was very helpful in finding the right restaurant that evening and was by our side with advice and action. So if you're looking for something smaller, finer, cleaner and more unusual, you're right here! and there's still to be awakened by the outwardly fine muffins that were given to eat in the morning.
