We tried this place on a friend’s recommendation. It was a good value for Siem Reap. It’s a small hotel with only 14 rooms. Decor is a little quirky. Has a small pool and bar. The street is a bit scruffy but it’s an easy and safe walk to the Pub Street entertainment district in 10 minutes or so. Everything was clean and working properly. The aircon and WiFi were good. A light breakfast, fried egg and bread and instant coffee or tea, was included. Staff members were friendly and helpful. The property changed owners recently and the sign outside still had the old name. They said that it will be changed after Khmer New Year when people start working again. Janny, one of the owners, also has a tour business. We booked his guided tour of the temples and Lake Tonle Sap and had a wonderful time.

We stayed here after we were disappointed with our original hotel. My two sons and wife loved this place very much and the staff were simply amazing. We felt like we really mattered. 
The rooms are very modern and tastefully decorated. Great location and close to "Pub Street" though not too close to be kept awake all night, 2 minute walk. Great price too for the location.
We cant wait for our next visit.

A great place to stay!

From the moment we walked in, the service and value for money remained absolutely the best I have ever experienced in Asia. 

After being greeted with warm smiles and cold drinks, I was delighted to see such an  incredibly clean, modern and spacious room. The room included all amenities one would expect plus more. 

The pool area was a clean and welcoming retreat from the afternoon sun and great place to drink a cold beer and meet fellow travellers. 

Our hosts spoke beautiful English and were genuinely interested in making sure we were not only comfortable, but that we had the best possible time in Cambodia. 

The free breakfast was hands down the most delicious I've had so far, despite there only being one option.

The location is ideal. A short two minute walk to town and pub street so it's nice and peaceful. However, if you want to party, funky flash packers is just down the road so you can party up there and then head back to some tranquility when you've had enough. 

I've stayed at many hotels but this is the best value I've ever had.

Best Value in all of Asia

I accidentally left my review on the old owners page so I had to make sure I let people know on the correct page!....
As soon as you walk in, the place is beautiful! Lovely pool and sun beds. The decor is gorgeous. The rooms are the best I have stayed in anywhere in Cambodia. It's a relaxing 5 star quality. Rooms come with a comfortable bed, refrigerator, A/C and fan, TV, quick wifi, cupboards with full length mirrors, both shower and bathtub with high pressure water. I can't say a bad word about this place. 
Shining has only just opened with new management but I can see it is going to become very busy, I'd suggest booking if you know you'll be coming to avoid disappointment. 
The owners and staff and very friendly an accommodating. The price is very cheap for how good the quality is!
I highly recommend it and will definitely be staying again! :)

The room was very good, very clean, excellent service and value for money. Recommended to other who is visiting Cambodia. There are pub and night market nearby, great location. The hotel staff is very friendly and their speak english. Thumb up.
