We had to check-out of this place after just one night, as it was just an absolute shambles. At $80/night you would expect a decent standard of accommodation but this was anything but. The tap/shower water was brown and therefore could not be used for brushing our teeth or washing - we had to buy bottles of water for this. On top of this, several members of our party woke up in the morning covered in bed bug bites - after lifting up the mattress it was clear to see why as it was absolutely filthy and clearly had not been cleaned in a very long time.

We then spoke to the manager/owner the next day who refused to refund us for the nights we weren't staying there. This alone is an absolute disgrace, and just demonstrates what little care he has for his customers.

Despite the fact that we were refused a refund, we still decided to pay for somewhere else. We checked-in to an apartment further along the beach. This was half the price, had clean bedding and clean running water. If only we had stayed there in the first place.

Checked-out after one night

My friends and I had a booking for the family bungalow for 2 nights. However, the experience has left us traumatized and we left after 1 night. We tried to complain to the receptionist when we checked out on the second day, but he appeared clueless plus I am not sure if he understood us perfectly. In addition, it was difficult to channel our anger to him because it was not his fault. 

1) The ceiling has holes in it. I was sleeping w rainwater dripping on my face when I rained that night. I had to cover myself with the blanket to avoid the rain (and mosquitoes)

2) The mosquito nets have holes, rendering the nets useless at nets where there are DOZENS of mosquitoes inside my net. Not to mention that the flooring has holes so the mosquitoes can enter from underneath. I spent the whole night killing them. I have at least 40 bites from the night. My friend had 26 mosquito bites on her face just from trying to sleep in the room. 

3)The toilet is not well maintained and very open. There were holes in the wooden walls that made me paranoid when bathing. It is disgusting and absolutely atrocious. The toilet area could have been better maintained to ensure holes are covered the very least. 

4) The whole place is falling apart. My bed frame is rickety and slanted. One of the fans nearly fell on my friend. What if he had fallen on him? 

5) There were small blood stains on my bed sheets when we first came. It was absolutely disgusting.

The management is selfish and greedy for allowing people to book this particular bungalow even tho it has garnered quite a few bad reviews online for this particular bungalow. I cant speak for the rest of the bungalows but DO NOT STAY IN THE FAMILY ROOM. The bungalow has given us a very bad impression of Koh Rong and your establishment.

For the love of god, DO NOT STAY HERE

Bungalows smelt of stale urine. Up all night as mosquitoes got in the poorly kept nets. Millions of ants! Good location on the beach and not too far from bars. If you want to be asleep before 3 then bring ear plugs as the bass from the nearby bars travels. A real low point on what has been a good trip.

Worst night ever!

The bungalow we stayed in was infested with mosquitos and the nets were completely useless. On top of this it also stank of sewage. We didn't sleep all night. Staff did not care and were very rude and patronising, blaming us for the ordeal. The only saving grace is that they eventually offered us a free breakfast after a lengthy back-and-forth. Really awful experience.

Horrible Night

Very very basic bungalows full of mosquitos - staff is doing nothing to help with that - like provide mosquito repellent or incense...
Good location and nice reception/restaurant/bar area, but always empty and shut by 10pm...

Very average and not worth the full price!

4 out of 5...probably generous but it was kinda fun
so my hut was way up the hill, really basic, really really basic, didnt realise the huts had no hot water or WiFi, you would assume given the heat that the water would be warmish...it wasnt, the bathrooms were outside which was nice, dont leave your stuff out there, i had monkeys rummaging through it, they also used to run through my hut in the mornings, which was also nice :)
the no WiFi was also kind of OK as it encouraged you too chill down at the main kitchen bar area which was really nice and had WiFi
cocktails and food were good, staff great
our 2 huts were on a lean like a crazy house, apparently this "resort" was the first built on KR
pricey for what it was but we looked at a lot of options and it suited our scabby budget...Otres for the same budget gave us more bang for buck but Otres is dead and buried now :(
location was good for us, far enough away from the doof doof but close enough to walk, we found we mostly left Paradise during the day and turned left at the beach

it was an experience

Food at the restaurant was very good, I loved their muesli yaourt with delicious and fresh fruits for breakfast, good coffee americano in a big mug. But the bungalow we got was very dim inside, and all open, doors were all hard to close and open, it was located all in the back so many mosquitoes and no wind, path to get wasn't very nice, I think it's better if you choose a beach front bungalow (but more costly). Bathroom and outside lights wasn't working so you need your phone lamp after dark. Cold shower, low pressure from sink. Bungalow and bathroom will need some renovation for better looking. Hopefully bed was very confortable and fan efficient to cool us down by night. 

Good restaurant on site but bungalow was disappointing 

You have a beautiful private beach. The Bungalows are clean and near to the nature with an open bathroom. The prizes in the Restaurant are good and the food is AWESOME! The stuff was friendly and helped us with every problem. The Bungalows are near to the little center and to the ferry. Thank you for the great stay at Paradise Bungalows!

Great Stay

My fiance and I were so happy with our stay. Lovely staff, cool affordable rustic bungalows, perfect beach side location and my favourite part was chilling at the bar/ deck area. We will be back for sure!

Everything Excellent

We visited in low season and because it was our honeymoon we booked in advance to make sure we had somewhere to stay. Big mistake - there were lots of places with rooms for much cheaper and nicer than where we stayed. Even our own room was $20 cheaper when we looked on booking.com so if you go in low season don’t bother booking.

As we were on our honeymoon we wanted to spend a little more than we normally do on a backpacking holiday to get somewhere nice, but I have no idea what we got for the $70 we paid. The staff were pretty unhelpful. We were given the wrong food several times in the restaurant. The recommended boat was chaos. Honestly - it wasn’t the worst place I’ve ever stayed, but it was the most I feel like I’ve been ripped off. 

The location was good as it was a short walk to the main pier but away from the noise. So if you can get yourself a good price here then stay, otherwise go somewhere else.
