Earlier I wrote an excellent review of this property. However, please disregard my comments regerding the excellent service and friendly staff. The house is now focusing on cost management at the expense of quality of food and service.

Service has deteriorated

Not coming here again. We booked by phone ... arriving it turned out nothing was booked for us still they accommodated us but we had difficulty figuring out where our room is. Coming back to the reception there was nobody to help for about 15 minutes. At the dinner there was only annoying Greek and Serbian music all night. I requested for a little change of music, the waiter replied that a customer had a birthday wish for that music. I argued that it is ok for 1-2 songs but we are listening to it more than 2 hours. We got into ugly argument. Overall the reception and staff was very rude and unapologetic. I played for 2 nights but left after the first because of the rude attitude.

Extremely rude ... ended my vacation prematurely

Expect positive surprise 

We were surprise mainly by the facilities - nice swimming pool, nice tennis court, standard gym and the guest house itself.  Everything is well maintained. The atmosphere it is really relaxing. 

Do not expect luxury rooms, they are just standard.

The restaurant menu could be improved.
The breakfast is below average. Bulgarian style unhealthy :)

In general i give it 5 stars because of the cheap fare.
All together combined gives you amazing value for the money. 

Go to the hunting area called  Lugut in the afternoon for a walk. You could see some wild animals.

Expect positive surprise  - good value

Very good hotel. Very clean, nice, polite stuff, good restaurant with quality food. Beautiful nature around . You can go to the mountain or just walk around. You can rent a bike or to go off-road car walk. Totally recommended 

Great place to stay

We spent a really relaxing outdoor activity week in Valevtsi. The hotel is nice and clean, with just amazingly friendly staff. And the restaurant is simply superb, offering wide variety of local specialities and products like deer and wild boar from the game processing plant located next door (we went there and bought loads of Bulgarian specialities to take home). The hotel offers bikes (some of them a bit past the best before date, though) free of charge, a tennis court and affordable off-road transfers (our favorite was the Russian vintage UAZ Jeep instead of the Mercedes) to the National Park with spendid mountain hiking routes.

For activities, be active and ask the staff, they know what is worthwhile and organize things for you, from mountain walks to fully organized hunting trips.
