Nomady Pousada- By Chez Euthymia

I absolutely loved this place! After an initial problem with payment issues, before we even left (no-ones fault) they took a leap of faith and made an exception. And this during the Olympics too. It is quaint and gorgeous. It's on a small island called Ilha da Gigoia, a piece of paradise minutes away from the busy city. A very short ferry ride takes you there and back. You feel like a local walking through the cobbled lanes, where there are a few small bars and restaurants. The decor is quirky and rustic and colourful! The breakfasts were authentic Brazilian. Rosane is the hostess/manager and she is so accommodating and goes beyond her call of duty! If you love being in the midst of the vibe and culture of a country I recommend this. If you prefer pristine "anywhere in the world" hotel rooms then it's not for you.
