Very nice Boutique Posada, clean, neat, Staff Excellant, willing to help with info on dining and shopping...Beautiful filling Continental breakfast, Brasilian delicacies. University near by, lots of people safe area.. Will stay again if business is necessary..2 blocks from US Consulate..

First Posada

Pousada Lorde Ingles is a very well located establishment, extremely clean, with a very friendly staff. The breakfast is careful prepared. It is an excellent option! Very worthy value! By the way, the owner of pousada lives there and directs it very carefully.

Worth value pousada

It is a very clean and new hotel. Breakfast is good and the staff very helpful. Rooms are very confortable and clean. The location is somehow good. It is a very nice option of place to stay when going to the USA Consulate in Recife.

Excellent service. The staff helps one to get around. Very new. Very clean. The breakfast is one of the best I have had. 

Great place to base oneself in the city. 30-40 minute walk or so to marco zero. 

It was a good experience. 



Great place!

Parking, clean, well lit, spacious bathroom, hot water tap (not electric shower head), egg&bacon for breakfast, looks new, excellent wifi.

And decently priced.

(Estacionamento, limpo, bem iluminado, banheiro grande, água quente na torneira, ovo&e bacon para café de manha), parece novo, wifi rapido com sinal forte em toda pousada.

Definitely a good option.

This is a really difficult review to write as we ended up with very mixed feelings about this pousada.
The positives:
- we arrived late at night and the gentleman at reception was attentive and made us feel welcome
- the pousada looks brand new and it's lovely
- our room was super-clean and the shower was great
- the pousada's location was perfect. Most people stay near the beach, in Boa Viagem. We hadn't come to Recife for its beach and wanted easy access to Old Recife. The area is called Boa Vista and we'd definitely recommend it.

The negatives:
- although I had mentioned before that we were on honeymoon, we were still given two single beds. This was put right the day after but, quite frankly, it should not have happened. The pousada had three guests in total during our stay (us two and a young man), so it wasn't even that they were rushed off their feet. Plus we had booked months in advance.
- our room was definitely on the small side and we felt it was on the expensive side for what it was. However, accommodation in Recife IS on the expensive side (like in most Brazilian cities)
- everyone was pleasant enough but nobody went out of their way to actually be nice and warm. On our first day, we asked for a map of the city but they didn't have any left. There were none of the pleasantries you'd normally find at a Pousada / B&B set up (which is why we prefer it above hotels). The whole experience was rather anonymous and we could easily have been at an Ibis or Marriot.  Nobody gave us any tips (other than the typed up list of local places to eat), inquired about our plans and getting some information about local buses to the city's main tourist area felt like hard work.
- lastly, breakfast was ok but pretty average when compared to our pousada in nearby Olinda.

It's a real shame and we'd have loved to have given this pousada a raving review, as it's got so much potential. However, the service was simply too impersonal and detached, and all the negatives revolve around customer service and a desire to delight your guests which we didn't see at all. In fact, we walked with a feeling that the staff were rather on the unhappy side.
