We called before arriving, and was told we could just to come. When we arrived, arround 15 o’clock, and found out our car with our caravan could not start on the very steep driveway, so we had to ask for help to get the car onto to the terraces. 

We entered the reception/restaurant, and before we had a chance to ask for anything, a very unfriendly woman angrily said to look at the sign, the reception do not open until 18 o’clock, just find a spot on your own. 

We walked shortly around, the place has fantastic views from many of the pitches, but the entire place i is very open. It also lies as neighbour to the airport. It might be cool to see planes take-off and land that close by, and i have no idea how busy Inssbruck airport is. 

Very puzzeled and back in the car we looked at each other, and agreed to continue, to find another campingsite to stay within a 30min drive, where we where welcomed with big smiles and fantastic service.

Problems entering the steep driveway with caravan, and unfriendly staff. We did not stay.

We are a hiking couple and we came  after a day trip in the area.
We felt that the service and the reception was unpleasant and not kind. Although we paid a big entrence price to put a single tent we received cold shower and almost no internet.

This campground may be ok for caravans and motorhomes, but don’t bother if you are in a tent. The “tent” area is sloping and the other areas you can use have stones under the grass. Being in a tent too means you hear ALL the traffic ALL night and the planes and trains. The service is very poor, and the prices are over the top for what you get. The only reason we gave a two is for the ablutions.
The website said they only took cash, but when we arrived they only took a card. We arrived on a Monday and the restaurant was closed.
Overall l’m sure we could have done better.

Noisy

Super nice views from the mountain over the valley. Clean and hygienic sanitary facilities. Own water and drain in each pitch. Friendly staff. This is the second time here and can defenetely recommend it. 

Cool place

This review is about hotel Kranebitterhof that is not even listed on tripadvisor but it is on other booking sites. 
I could not find this hotel with my navigation. After several attempts it turned out that the building that the building site full of construction fences and weeds was the hotel. 
Or rather some building in the corner of a building site. The reception was 200 meters away at the campsite. So I went there and checked in.

After 10 hours of traveling on arrival I asked to reserve a table in the restaurant. It was sweltering hot and I wanted to eat outside. Tables outside could not be reserved. First come first serve. So I took my stuff to the room and came back and all was full. So I needed to sit inside (all alone, no one else inside) and I couldn’t because it was too hot inside. No airco, no fans. I noticed empty tables outside in the front and wanted to go there but they had reserved signs. I asked the waiter why are they reserved? That was not possible. He said: the front can be reserved. The back not. I asked why he didn’t offer me that 15 minutes ago. By than his face was red with anger and he ignored me. Then I noticed two men going outside at the back and I noticed a lot of empty tables around the counter. So I followed. The waiter physically stopped me with his arms to enter the terrace. I asked, why are they allowed there and I am not. Then he said in a very sarcastic and angry tone: “Because they are my friends and you are not”. And then he planted his body right in front of me while turning his head 90 degrees to the left in a very aggressive way to tell me that I needed to move off. I was so shocked by this utterly rude behaviour that I turned again to the hotel manager to complain that this is no way to welcome a guest to your hotel and force her to eat in 35 degrees after 10 hours of traveling. 

He told me that the restaurant was not from the hotel. (The sign on the door said something else). But he went to ask that waiter. It turned out that the restaurant did not want to give me a table because I was alone. This was the rudest experience I have ever had in my life. Not only the words of this waiter (who apparently was the manager of the restaurant) but his attitude, his red face of anger and annoyance and his total disparagement. Once this is your welcome, it is very hard to enjoy the rest of your stay. I told the manager that this will not be a good review. But all he said was that he had nothing to do with the restaurant.

This is not (anymore) a hotel but a sort of pension belonging to a camping. Breakfast is served on the landing of the stairs. 
For the rest this is a hotel with a Ibid budget size rooms, Ibis budget kind of breakfast for an Ibis budget price. It is sweltering hot in summer. But if you keep in mind that you are in a sort of Ibis Budget than you are fine. 
It is situated less than 500 meters as the bird flies from the runway of the airport so from 6.30 in the morning the jumbo jets start of with full engines.
It is very nicely situated for walking your dogs. 
For the rest all I can say is Google this hotel. Not the reviews but the local news items of May 2017. Than you know enough. 
Maybe they should put the foreign cleaning lady in charge. She knows what hospitality is.

HOTEL KRANEBITTERHOF

About 5km west of the city with easy access to the Old Town - 100m walk to the bus-stop, then 2 buses (about 35mins all up).  There are over 70 pitches, a central amenities block that is quite new, and what looks like a very nice bar/restaurant.  All this is nestled under the massif of the Alps providing a dramatic backdrop.  

The staff were reasonably friendly and helpful.  The facilities all worked well but for some odd reason there is only 2 dishwashing sinks?   The site slopes but the large pitches are cut in and level thus providing great outlooks.  There is no mini market, but bread can be ordered for the morning.  Free Wi-Fi hotspot so you need to be close to reception.  For 2 in a Motor Home we paid 36€ for the night - a bit on the expensive side.  3.72/5

Nestled under the massif of the Alps

This campground has a great location - about 5 km from Innsbruck with great views to the mountains. It is let down badly by the attitude of some reception staff who could not care less when the wifi did not work- repeatedly during our 5 night stay. Also the cleanliness of the toilets and showers left a lot to be desired. My husband said that what looked to be excrement was smeared over the inside of a toilet door and stayed there for 2 days. The women's toilets smelt of stale urine some days, the result of inadequate cleaning. 
On the positive side we had a good meal at the restaurant La Garda although the service was a little haphazard- the seafood pasta was excellent. 

Good location but ....

We came here after hiking in the surrounding. The restaurant offers a wide selection of Italian foods: pizza, pasta, meat and fish. We sat outside in the terrace and had two salads and one  portion of grilled shrimps. Portions were really satisfactory in quantity and quality. Only negative side: it's very close to the road so the noise of the vehicles is really disturbing when sitting outside. For a quiet conversation better sitting inside.

Italian seafood in the middle of Tirol

This is a good campsite outside Innsbruck. It is clean and well organised with good views. Wifi is free. There is a busy restaurant on the site but no shop. 
It is easy to get in to Innsbruck in 30 minutes once you have worked out how to use the two buses.
