We had green chicken curry, pork belly fat rice noodles and tofu vegetarian stir fry from the Thai section - as usual did not disappoint! Very generous portions, fast service, excellent value and matches any top Sydney Thai restaurant. Great choice of local wines by the glass. Nicely lit festive courtyard. We will return as we come to Orange often.

Dinner Sat night Thai

Stayed here and dined here every-time. This visit its dine only and the selection from the Thai restaurant is awesome, always tasty!!! Delicious.  Oh and the wine from the bar is local. If you don’t like Thai you have wood fired pizza and  bar menu.

My favourite place to eat when in Orange 

This hotel is part of a rather imposing structure that seems to be all things to all of Orange - function centre, bar, restaurant and a place to stay in the centre of town.

The price was pleasant, the room was obviously from an earlier time that had been spruced up but if you are just looking for a modest place to stay the small room and older feel won't trouble you. Given it has good access to several local eateries this is probably a good place for business travellers.

And it's across the road from Robertson Park which is a pleasant place for a stroll.

Convenient location and price.

The bistro at Hotel Canobolas is simply wonderful! We ordered the rib eye on bone and pizza and it was great. The pizza came out quickly, but the steak took some time, probably due to the size and time required to cook it... 

Restaurant is fantastic! 

We stayed at Orange as part of a week-long train visit to Broken Hill.  The staff were fine about leaving the car there (we stayed 2 nights each way) while we were away - the carpark was well-lit, with CCTV and the station 5 minutes walk, with luggage.  Opened in 1939, it's clearly been renovated a number of times and the rooms lacked a few of the usual creature comforts, though once we got settled, it was fine - lift, A/C, TV and wifi all good.   It's very central with food options and the tourist centre nearby, across the War Memorial park.  While breakfast was not on offer, it served a range of eating styles for lunch and dinner.  These are generous and delicious serves and very popular with locals and we learnt it was better to hang back until after 7.30 when the crowd (every night) had dissipated.  There is a large staff and in every area we found them to be friendly and very cooperative.  I'm sure there are jazzier places in Orange (with much better bathrooms) but we grew to love our home away from our Canberra home.  Orange was a great town to visit.

Opened 1939 - a lady with style, and eccentricities

We spent two nights is this neat and tidy pub, the rooms we’re small by adequate with heating, bar fridge with daily free bottles of water and a nice hot shower with amazing water pressure. 
The rooms are nothing to rave about but also nothing to complain about. Good value for money!
The pub it’s self has an amazing restaurant, the pizza are one of the best wood fire pizzas I’ve ever had.
Will happily stay here again on my next visit 

Neat and tidy pub accomodation in the heart of Orange 

We stayed for two nights and if you are after a no-nonsense, budget Motel this is for you.

The location is great being in the heart of Orange and handy to a number of resaurants, cafes, etc.

Rooms are basic but functional and for the money, it represents good value.

My one criticism; (and if you plan to stay) the check in is on the far end of the block so when you arrive be prepared for a walk (OK when the weather's fine - not OK when it's pouring with rain).

All in all good value

Budget Motel

We stayed at the motel on our way back from Dubbo. It was a songle storey motel and we could park the car right infront of our room, which was convenient with lugagge and 2 lids on the tow.
The room was a bit small -  with 2 young kids, bit it was neat and clean and well maintained.
It has all the usual amenities, TV, a/c,  fridge full of free water bottles - so for the price we paid and for where it was, it was resonably priced.

Clean and convenient

Ordered the schnitzel/chips and salad. Unfortunately their idea of salad is lettuce, just lettuce nothing else. No one wants to eat  lettuce on its own. Why don’t they just advertise for what it is, schnitzel and chips.

Yes we booked this as a last minute stay on a roadtrip as it was pretty much the only room available in Orange.  Reception area and hotel public areas are very nice. Rooms are obviously in the process of being updated however key areas have been neglected.  Our standard twin was COLD.  Small air-con did NOTHING to heat the large area.  TV aerial was not plugged in so unless I had gone looking to find the problem, would have had no TV.  Beds were hard, lumpy and old - mattress dated 2005.  One thin doona in Orange on a winter night with ineffective heater is NOT enough.  Bathroom OK - tarted up and clean.  Carparking available in public carpark at rear of hotel.  Not secure.  No breakfast available on site however walking distance to any number of local cafes.
