Booked 1 night as I was celebrating New Years some complain about the shoes policy but it wasn't a problem for me I enjoyed the stay & had a good sleep & the breakfast was good the only downside is the price I've stayed in hotels for a cheaper rate 

Great stay for New Years 

We stayed for three nights in this B & B close to Williamstown, Melbourne. Hardly through the front door we were requested to remove our shoes immediately. Then we were subjected to a diatribe of rules & instructions. Our bedroom was not serviced throughout our stay. Whilst our bed was comfortable, we were given strict instructions as to how the blinds should be raised & lowered. Breakfast was minimal and unimpressive. We were charged $630 for 3 nights stay. We subsequently checked the owner's website and the figures shown were less than we were charged. On advising the owner she reimbursed the overcharged amount. We did not feel our stay was good value for money.

Bed & Breakfast

My grandmother stayed here and was treated like she was an unwelcome houseguest to put it nicely. Told she could check in at 130, but the owner saw it was more important to go to the theatre. When we called her at 3 she seemed annoyed at us checking in, finally checked in at 7 and no apology, just "take off your shoes" as we walked In. No clean towels for a 4 night stay. Go somewhere else! 

RUDE,RUDE,RUDE ! Stay somewhere else!!

We stayed one night at Northaven by the Sea and were made to feel thoroughly welcome. Our room was spacious and the bed very comfortable with a whole range of toiletries; the guest lounge at the top of the stairs contained every amenity - hot drinks, cold water, books, DVDs, bicuits, cakes - and breakfast was excellent. The main centre of Williamstown, with great bars and restaurants, was a short 5 minute drive away, and parking off the main street is free in the evening. We had an excellent night's sleep and awoke refreshed and ready to head off up the Great Ocean Road - for which this is a very convenient starting point.

Quiet, comfortable and pleasant

I stayed at New Haven a few months ago when meeting a friend and I have to say that it was very comfortable and the hostess was lovely and attentive.  It was quiet and in a lovely part of Williamstown. The house sits directly in a park so an evening stroll or brisk morning walk to wake up is wonderful.  Parking is fairly easy as well - if not you can make arrangements with the proprietor.  It's not quite in the middle of Williamstown (the city) itself, so if you're planning on a night out, expect to drive or taxi around the place to get back to base. 

The room I had was nice and clean and very spacious.  It had all the mod cons you would expect and the furnishings were nice and homey. There was nothing bad to say about it at all.

My only complaint (which isn't really a complaint) was that I really felt like I was staying in someone's private residence.  I like my B&Bs to have a little more separation between proprietor and myself.  This was particularly brought home to me when I had to take my shoes off at the door because of the polished floorboards.  I wished I had slippers. That put me off a bit so I would not suggest it as a place for a romantic get-away, but as a place to stay where you will be well taken-care of, it's definitely great value.
