The rates were cheap which makes sense. The bathroom was very dirty with mould on all the tile grout and water damage due to a leaky shower which still had someone else’s hair on the walls. The toilet flusher was broken, there are only two little hooks to hang towels on even though it is a very large open wall big enough for towel rails. The roof corners had big spider webs in them. The freezer latch was broken so the whole freezer box was full of ice and had also spread down into the fridge. The fridge seal was dodgy so the fridge didn’t close properly. 
The floor did not seem very clean as there were hairs and dirt on it. 
The bed frame looked solid and sturdy but wobbled and was very squeaky. 
Probably won’t stay here again or recommend to family/friends

Dirty

If I  had of taken any notice of previous reviews, we wouldn't have stayed here, but we had a wedding at Araluan and thought what the heck
Firstly everyone was friendly, I forgot my hairdryer and Maddy at reception lent me one
We had a beautiful evening meal, there were lots of other diners, which is a good inication things are ok
Our accommodation was lovely, comfortable bed, good aircon, shower was superb....would definitely recommend ......

Relaxing

Stayed one night here.

Had breakfast this morning, reviews were great worst breakfast I have ever had. 4 breakfasts hardly anyone ate anything, sausage & mushrooms were stone cold and I have never seen an omelette like it, absolutely shocking. Definitely wouldn’t go back, waste of money.
So disappointing, as the reviews were all really good. 😔

Good morning
Over the past week I was in contact with your representative James in the Accommodation Department via numerous phone calls regarding cancellation of our upcoming stay at Avocados and I wanted to bring it to these public forums as I’m sure a lot of people are affected by the same issue.
We were due to stay at Avocados for a couple days next week 23rd to 30th March.
We had booked our rooms via your website.
We wanted to cancel our bookings as we had come in contact with some friends who had just arrived in the country and who are now displaying flu like symptoms and so we did not want to endanger the health of any of your staff or other customers whom we might come in contact with.
Your representative James enforced the rule that your cancellation policy applicable to our booking means that we are not entitled to a refund and did not even offer any credit or otherwise compensation towards postponing our visit to another time.
It seems to appear that this person James or the management people within your organisation that James said he spoke to who made this policy decision have never had to deal with a situation such as this coronavirus before.
According to the Australian Government’s self-isolation policy it makes it difficult for us to honour this booking.
It is disappointing to learn that your organisation does not see fit to have a common sense approach regarding issuing refunds or credit vouchers for future use for all travellers who would be breaking the law if they honoured their reservations under these extraordinary circumstances 
I appreciate that this is a challenging time for the tourism industry, as it is also a challenging time for all of us.
I do hope that the government will intervene and compensate all tourist and hospitality providers for your losses, so that you do not have to rely on charging customers for services that they cannot and will not receive.
Especially those who are attempting to act in good faith towards their fellow beings

Wrost place on planet earth to stay got absolutely ripped off paid $165 for one night stayed in room 15 Valentine’s Day 2020. Please do not go there spend your money somewhere else. Accommodation not good

Bad experience

We stayed at Avocados for 3 nights while in town for a wedding. We were extremely disappointed with all aspects of the accomodation. As a side note, the restaurant and bar is fantastic

Below is a list of the problems we found and my recommendation would be to avoid this accomodation until they refresh the rooms and lift the cleanliness to an acceptable level

1. Bunk Bed had a faulty ladder that if used would potentially be very dangerous.
2. All curtains were old and seemed to be wearing away.
3. The bathroom was extremely dirty
4. The back door to the apartment was unable to be locked
5. The air conditioner didn’t work well at all (we had 2 days of 39degrees)
6. The bedding was dirty and clearly had not been washed 
7. Even though we were told there were wire doors, there was not. 
8. Limited crockery and cutlery. Ie 1 spoon only. 
9. Only place to plug in appliances was next to the sink. Extremely dangerous. 
10. Empty alcohol cans and cigarette butts In garden
11. Front light didn’t work. 
12. Holes in the walls

We know of some other people that were planning to stay in the near future and we have suggested they change there plans



Avoid Avocados Accomodation at all costs

Staff friendly, nice location, indoor /outdoor seating. Bar with reasonable prices. Offers meals , more pub style food. Lots of choices of alcohol. Order at the bar and food delivered to your table. Good service could be a lot quicker would be the only fault.

Saturday lunch

Invited to join friends for lunch we had not heard of this place prior to our visit and boy were we pleasantly surprised. The menu was comprehensive, with a great selection and very realistic pricing for both food and drinks. As a member of our party could not have a certain ingredients and the staff went out of their way to ensure that we knew exactly what dishes would be suitable. This was done in a very friendly thorough manner showing it was no bother at all and very much appreciated. The food was sensational. Certainly will be returning, our local restaurants in the Swan Valley could certainly learn about good service from this place.

What a gem!!!

We stayed here last weekend. We had been onsold by the service we had booked into and had checked with the so called accommodation manager ( the owners son) that we would be able to check in on out late arrival. When we arrived no one was there and the restaurant owner who knew nothing about us, but he was very helpful. The 3 rooms we had were awful. Our room had several patched holes in the door and a shower that overflowed all over the bathroom floor, the towels provided were frayed and not fit for use. One of the other rooms did not have a soap holder or toilet roll holder in the bathroom and the other room has no door seal so all rain came in. All rooms were dirty. When we tried to discuss this with the owner and his son they took no responsibility and when one guest questioned the room cost for additional time he was abused and sworn at by the management. They were absolutely appalled that we gave this feedback and made no effort to acknowledge or fix any of our concerns. Their response was to place a toilet role on top of the toilet brush in the room with no toilet roll holder.After this treatment we felt we had no alternative than to find other accommodation and when handing back the keys to the owner he offered no apology or refund for the time we did not stay.

Would not recommend the accommodation here to anyone

Firstly this review is not of the Cafe/Restaurant which we found to be very good with great friendly staff.

The “Chalets” are a group of units in blocks the best that can be said is its mixed use some permanent and some holiday. Our room was poorly cleaned with past use by linen and towels it would easily be the worst presented room I’ve ever had the misfortune of staying in. No toilet roll holder, no soap dish, no bin in the bathroom. After our friends mentioned the roll holder we came back to find the roll placed on the brush I guess this was either meant to funny we found it offensive, and promptly left. This not a place to stay it’s a place to avoid.
