We had a very pleasant 2 night stay in the Presbytery, perfect for a couple. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the rest of the apartment had everything we needed , most importantly in broken hill heat, effective air conditioning! Also a newly renovated bathroom. Andrea was most helpful and friendly, gave us a tour of the larger renovated church accommodation, absolutely superb for a big group. Would highly recommend .

A great stay

Having a massive converted church all to ourselves, just two of us, when you can book it to take up to 6 or 8 I think, was a touch indulgent, but it took our long awaited Broken Hill trip to another level!! A real treat to have such special surroundings. I’d wanted to stay for a few years and it was worth the wait once we got post pandemic plans back in place!  I’m not sure when the conversion was done but I think probably 10 years ago, but it still feels fresh and current and has a timeless and very tasteful decor - it’s classy, clever and extremely comfortable to be in. With lofty ceilings you’d think that heating and cooling could be an issue, but again we were comfortable. I can’t actually think of anything that was missing or that we would say should be improved. We didn’t even cook in the lovely kitchen as we were out testing out the pubs (!!) but it seemed like they had thought of everything from what we could see. 
It was particularly fun having our predinner drinks up on the mezzanine level ‘nook’ - felt like we were on top of the world ;)

Stayed overnight at outback view tourist Park Broken hill and was surprised at the spaces cottages available. Well catered for in every way with comfort and room not to mention facilities. Would recommend

We stayed at the Presbytery in May 2021 for two nights. 
The bed was very comfortable and nice sheets. I would have liked more than 2 towels in the bathroom, bathroom floor tiles were cracked, the shower nob had fallen off, the tiles around the basin had grouting coming off. All adding to the overall shabby appearance. The website had indicated something other than this and so we were disappointed. Despite this we loved Broken Hill, Menindee and Silverton. Well worth a visit.

A Little too shabby for a great stay

We enjoyed our stay in Broken Hill although the Church Stay was a little disappointing.  We stayed in the presbytery, although the bedding was comfortable the chesterfield lounge was as expected quite firm.  Cooking is limited as there is only 1 electric induction cooktop and no oven.  There is all the utensils need to cook with, but it has a very limited space.  There is a nice veranda to sit and enjoy a cuppa.  No clock or radio.  There was a Small wall Television no wardrobe just hanging space.  Decorated tastefully in sympathy with the era.  There is a bbq offered if needed, we asked on day 2. Unfortunately it was not delivered until day 5.  I contacted the lovely lady who looks after the residence for the owners regarding a refresh of towels and she said that they don’t usually give clean towels during a stay!  We had booked for 6 nights so I did expect at least one refresh. The lady was lovely and provided clean towels on day 3.  There is no laundry,  although there is a laundromat across at the nearby shops.  There is an external clothes line which we used.  Although it would have been nice to have an airer.  The bathroom was very tired and in need of some repairs tiling, shower tap kept falling off!! Cracked repaired grouting around basin was not nice. Broken cracked floor tiles.  Overall the presbytery was comfortable but a little overpriced.  I should have asked more questions about facilities prior to booking.  Owner was easy to contact.  It would have been good to have a a compendium about the residence, Broken Hill,  and suggested activities abs restaurant choices close by.  Hint take time to go to Bells Cafe for some nostalgia.

A little disappointed 

On our road trip through NSW outback, we wanted to visit the birthplace of BHP. We did not expect much, and thought the church stay would make up for it. Well, the church stay most definitely did not disappoint but we were pleasantly surprised with Broken Hill and the history. We never realised we had the outback on our doorstep - a must do road trip! You have to visit the Silverton Hotel, 20kms from Broken Hill. 

Great stay

Loved our stay in Broken Hill - we had 3 lovely nights in the cozy 1 bed Outback Church stay. Far enough away from town for peace & quiet (we were there for the Broken Heel festival) but close enough to be where the action was in a 5-7min drive.
We’ll definitely return.

Cute & Comfy

My Mum and I stayed at the Cottage which is wheelchair accessible.
There is however a small step up to the pathway from the street and another small step into the cottage.
The doorways into cottage and main bedroom were nice and wide. All other doorways were quite snug, but accessible.
Besides needing some updating and a fresh coat of paint, it was a very comfortable stay with everything we needed.

Wheelchair accessibility

Despite being off to a bad start when our first class journey via train from Sydney failed to even get past Blacktown and a pretty horrendous 14 hour bus trip, we were greeted by Billy at the Broken Hill Railway Station at 2am. He was most wonderful and more than happy to assist us to pick up our hire car the following day. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable and met all of our needs. As a nostalgia trip.. 20 years into past working and social lives in Broken Hill this was an ideal place to stay. So a big thank you to Billy for being so wonderful and a big thank you also to the hosts for providing some complimentary champagne after our terrible journey out there!

Excellent service and excellent facilities.

My husband & I joined my family for my birthday celebration at the Church Stay.
We found it a beautiful, spacious, well equipped residence with all we could possibly want provided for. 
The kitchen had all you could possibly need for your stay, we baked several treats while there.
There were two areas to relax with comfortable lounges, which is vital for a larger group.
The bedding was beautifully comfortable with lovely linen.
There was nothing we could fault about our wonderful time in Broken Hill staying at the Outback Church Stay.
Billy was attentive & available to answer any questions.
