overall the hostel is great. very friendly, helpful and inviting. room #4 had 4 bunks in it and 1 bathroom. The shower was a tight fit and water went all over the floor in the bathroom so wet feet for everyone. The laundry service was fast and reasonably priced, overall the hostel was quiet at night and its location is close enough to the bus station but walking distance to everything in town. breakfast was included but honestly it was bread and jam with a choice of coffee, tea, juice. there was cereal but it was stale.

Great place to stay in El Chalten

I was there for three nights. The hostel is very close to the bus terminal and many shops and restaurants. I really liked the cleanliness of the place and the spacious room (I had a private double), even if the toilet was quite smelly and the never emptied the bin in the three days I was there. The lounge room is a good place to relax and it’s where the WiFi works best (which is almost nothing in the whole town). Breakfast is a bit boring after a few days. All the members of the staff were very helpful and friendly and ready to answer the million questions we all asked about the weather, the trails and things to do. All in all, a few things could be improved, but it’s a nice place. 

Good value for money

This is a decent place for back up if you want to camp at El Chalten. 

We have 6 beds and had private bathroom. The room was decent.  They have breakfast included but not much selection.  Coffee,  toast,  juice and scrambled eggs. 

Wifi but very slow. 

They also are good about storing back packs if you are hiking after check out. 

We didn't hang out much during the day it rained bc not much variety with menu and did not want smoking around us when eating.  

It's a hostel and feels very much so but appreciate the cleanliness of room.  

Back up to camping

Really enjoyed our stay here. Staff were most helpful and accommodating. Staff had great tips and advice for hikes (even tho they probably get asked the same questions a hundred times!) and were very accommodating when we had to change around our dates. Common area was good and rooms were great. Would recommend!

Great little hostel!

Pros: The breakfast was great, the laundry was reasonably priced; beds were comfortable; room was spacious enough; the poor WiFi encourages people to interact with each other (much needed in this day and age); located very near La Roti (excellent empanadas!) and the bus terminal, staff were friendly and helpful. 
Cons: Poor WiFi (when you really need it); located quite a walk from the trailhead of Fitz Roy. The kitchen was really small, though I didn’t use it. 
Had a really pleasant experience here and got to know fellow travellers staying here. Would come back again!

Great place!

We chose this place because of it’s kitchen, which was spacious enough for 2-3 people to cook and contained the basic necessities (very dull knives though). 
WiFi is only available in the communal areas and only works one person at a time. 
Breakfast was barely average with two white bread rolls per person, luke warm water/milk, thin coffee and cornflakes. 
Answers to questions whatsoever were, if answered at all, only responded to a minimum level. 
However, the bed was comfortable, the heating exceeded our expectations and the showers were hot at all times. 

Sufficient for traveling on a budget 

Traditional hostel in a hiking town with all the amenities you might need for your trip. We arrived at the end of the season so it was quite quiet, but I imagine it’s very sociable earlier in the year. 

Really friendly, bilingual staff who offered lots of advice about the town. 

The WiFi is really bad throughout the town as expected down there

It has all the basic stuff you need, it would be nicer if they add plugs closer or in the beds. If you're not into making your own bed or giving back the sheets before leaving, better choose another one.

A nice place

We've originally planned on staying here one night and then leaving for a 4 day hike, but ended up staying at Condor de los Andes for five nights or so... One reason was El Chaltén itself: my favourite place of six weeks in Argentina and Chile.

Anyway, about the hostel: The rooms are not very big, but the way the beds are arranged, it appears to be a bit bigger/offers a lot of empty space to pack etc. They have also large lockers to fit in the whole backpacks (incl. tent, sleeping bag, etc.). Clean rooms with private toilet/shower (also clean, no smell or whatsoever you might find in some places...). Also first hostel in a while that has quality furniture (fitted lockers, beds that don't seemt o fall apart).
Kitchen just big enough. Wi-fi is not reliable, but you're in El Chalten, where there's only satellite internet and, thus, it doesn't really work properly anywhere. The biggest down about this is, that the wi-fi is only in the lobby area/common room near the kitchen. Unfortunately, this makes it hard to socialize with other guests: most people leave their room to use the wi-fi and not because they're into talking (guess, if there would be wi-fi in the rooms people would look their stuff up online in the room, and there would be more people willing to socialize in the common areas).

The staff is incredible: a bunch of young, motivated people working there, they seem to actually care about the guests and greeted us even when we were in town eating out. Could also help us organise our hikes, booked busses that bring us to the starting point of one hike, recommended good restaurants (whether we asked for something simple or something fancy) and always had a smile on their face.

great place to stay!

Nice hostel close to the bus station and other attractions, rooms are comfortable and warm. The kitchen is fine but gets busy at times and the breakfasts supplied by the hostel are nice.
Staff are helpful and the hostel get a wide range of people, ages and nationalities so that makes it interesting. The WiFi is only in the common area.
