Simply the best customer focus ever. Food was cooked fresh as ordered, and very tasty. 
The Canadian owner and his team bend over backwards to make your stay so memorable. James we think the manager, even popped over to our outdoor table before Sunday lunch to have a friendly chat. 
Our room (7) was stunning, a real Farrow and Ball neutrals feel. Recently refurbished, it was large, roomy and so so clean and fresh. We had a lovely view across countryside from the door to a private stairway to the car park. They think of everything! In our wardrobe was a large floor standing fan which was very much appreciated as it was very hot and humid. 
Hubbys wallet fell out of his pocket and the our Canadian host carried it across to our room before we were about to leave, despite the fact he was serving breakfasts! 
We then had a call on returning home, to say his housekeepers had found a brolly in the room, and he would wrap and dispatch that afternoon as he had business in town. 
It arrived today! 
We have never had service quite like this since we stayed at Raffles Hotel in Singapore in 1981!

Best service ever, in a lovely old Inn 

A gem overnight stay with that boutique style pub and a chef who knows how to cook. We booked our stay well in advance to find this unique stay over 15 minutes just outside of Bath. It is situated in the peaceful village of Monkton Combe, surrounded by picturesque hills and valleys. Accommodation is first class, cosy and superior. It’s a family owned Pub and these folk are passionate about service and the place is tranquil. We highly recommend a stay here and enjoy the ambience with a top class chef.

A gem that surprised us

Great location.  Accommodation first class.  Food in restaurant very good as was the breakfast,  especially the scrambled egg. Owner was amiable and very pleasant.  James was the perfect manager. Great guy! Thanks for everything and will definitely visit again. Dee and John 😊



Wonderful stay late April

We stayed in Room 1 on the ground floor for three nights with our small dog. Bed was very comfortable, the room warm and cosy and there was plenty of hot water for the bath which made a change from having a shower. Towels were soft and a decent size to wrap around a larger body. There were also dressing gowns but we didn’t use them. Biscuits and daily chocolates were a nice touch. The owners, all the staff and the locals we spoke to were delightful and a good source of information about getting into Bath. We opted for the local bus which was quick and on time, albeit with a limited service so times might not suit everyone. There was what we assumed to be a limited winter menu but there was enough choice for the two nights we ate.
In summary we enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others. Monkey also gave it a paws up.

Enjoyable three night stay

Superb stay-wonderful welcome-nothing too much trouble-we stayed just prior to our Golden Wedding and were treated royally. The accommodation  was superb as were staff.
An added bonus is a brilliant  bus service  to and from  Bath just a few minutes down the road-can't fault  it!

Lovely and convenient for Bath

What a gem! A delightful family owned Pub / Inn in the beautiful village of Monkton Combe. Accommodation in Room 7 is gorgeous- beautifully decorated, comfortable and spotlessly clean. Dinner and breakfast excellent. Hosts are lovely and Benny our ESS loved it too. Thank you

Wonderful stay at The Wheelrights

Quaint little find, so tranquil. Lovely walks, loved the country feel of the rooms, such comfort and style. Food was on point.! Staff and owners always on hand to answer questions. Would love to return.

We stayed here for a wedding in Bath. Super find with beautiful rooms, comfort and style. 
The staff team were superb in helping us plan our trips and service outstanding. Food was fab and do try the Canadian breakfast, it’s a real holiday treat.

Treasure of a find

Set in a beautiful location, family run hotel. I was travelling alone and made to feel very welcome by the delightful Canadian family who run it. The chef is excellent and the rooms are immaculate and cosy with hairdryers, nice shampoo and bodywash and moisturiser. I couldn’t ask for a better place to stay

Lovely place to stay with delicious food

Had lunch with friends inside as it was cool there on very hot Monday.
They had a reduced menu to help their chef. Menu was just right.
Cold soup, some salads, tapas dishes and sandwiches.
Sample Gespacho, Caesar salad, rare beef and horse radish roll and chips.
Plus a selection of desserts.
All served with style and humour.
All delicious.
Worth a visit in these hot days
