Wow what can I say? Gorgeous place - clean, quirky rooms - awesome staff and food to die for.  We stayed for one night last Friday with my sister and her husband and we loved everything.  The duvets and pillows were amazing.  Great atmosphere and music too.  We will deffo be back soon.

Amazing place

Really lovely little hotel, a few niggles but nothing to deter me from staying again.

Check in was smooth and simple and i was shown to my room

I didn't eat at the malthouse as was meeting a friend but the menu looked lovely,

Room are decorated well with full of character.

I arrived back after midnight and wasn't sure how to get back in but one of the night staff came out and showed me how to get back in.

Comfy bed and was lovely and warm.

Couple of downsides are, one of my drinking glasses was dirty from a previous guest, the rainfall shower head was broken but did inform the team on check out.

Walls did seem a little thin as when totally silent i could hear the neighboring room's alarm clock going off.

Would happily stay again.

Perfect for a quick stop.

Found this lovely place whilst walking around Ironbridge. It's opposite the river and catches the sun when it shines with a good amount of outside seating.
The barman as pleasant and very helpful, the food was good value and tasty. There's a good choice of ales including 4 draught Hobgoblin ales. 
A must stop on a sunny day if only for a drink. We will return as we're planning a weekend away.

Place with a view in the sun

Visited with friends for a Thursday lunch. Restaurant has good and poor points. We were seated quickly,  given menus and  drinks orders taken and delivered quickly  . Menu is enormous,  excellent range and very good vegetarian choices.  However, we waited 50 minutes  for food to arrive. We all enjoyed our food, well presented and of a good size  . Appropriate checkback and another drinks order taken. Not such good points. Restaurant was quite cold. Our waitress, who was really good, was on her own right through service and the restaurant was busy the whole time we were there. Dogs are allowed , this does seem to be the norm ,however it seemed they were allowed throughout the restaurant rather than confined to just one part  . Another issue was that the server was petting the dogs and then carried on serving   - unhygienic and inappropriate. There was also a running screaming toddler there throughout most of our time there.  A few niggles detracted from the pleasant service and  good food

Difficult to rate

We stayed here using a voucher from buyagift.com. Having read previous reviews it seems that they put voucher guests in The Front Room. As rooms go we quite liked it, the decor wasn’t particularly to our taste and some things were a bit tired but they were our issues not the hotel’s, and they weren’t a problem at all. The view from the room was lovely, the bed was cosy and comfy and the food in the pub was very good, including breakfast.
On our second night the heating didn’t come on so I popped down to the bar and the member of staff came up to sort it out. While in the corridor outside our room he mentioned that there would be an event that night. My feeling is he mentioned this because he heard the music when he was in the corridor, it wasn’t very loud at that point but there was a beat that was audible. The music got progressively louder as the evening went on and then at 9pm a live band started, and it felt like they were in our room! By 9.30 we decided to ask what time the event was finishing, we were planning a day out the following day for my partner’s 50th. We went down to the pub and were told that it was going on until 1am!! We challenged why we had not been told about the event at check in and one of the team said that hadn’t because the event wasn’t happening that day (we’d checked in the night before!) and they’d told us earlier. At the time of it being mentioned the music was nowhere near as loud as it was at the time of complaining. 
We were moved to an alternative room in another building, we were told this was an upgrade, and it did have lovely big freestanding bath in it but the flow of the tap meant there was no chance of getting enough water in it for an adult person to bath in. Also the shower was turned off at the mains and the pulley to switch it on was on the ceiling with just six inches of string dangling down, with the best will in the world my five foot five frame was not going to reach it!! The other nice feature of our upgraded room was the toothpaste marks left on the sink from the previous guests.

Ironbridge itself is beautiful, the hotel has a lot of potential particularly if you like quirky decor but there is some way to go with the customer service which would only take a bit of common sense to sort out.

All fur coat and no knickers!!

The Malthouse was out of action due to a fire but was not informed. States parking there was non, only on the road.
The menu on offer was pretty much hot dogs and burgers.
The room was DISGUSTING. So much so that after a 13 hour day working, I hit hotel searches and asked for a refund. 
The room smelled of urine and damp, it clearly had not been hoovered as there was stuff all over the floor: there was public hair and dead spiders on the bathroom floor. The furniture was old, mismatched and looked like it had been obtained from a house clearance: the bed looked like it was £100 off eBay. 
I simply could not stay there it made me feel sick.
So, the “manager” agreed to refund me through the platform I booked on, and has since ignored all correspondence.

DISGUSTING, dirty, no parking, unprofessional:

We stayed in the penthouse, which was a great size, clean and comfortable. We travelled as a family of 4 and our small cavapoo dog, Neptune! We were surprised to see that the Malthouse had a fire, but our room was still fine as it was in another building and not directly affected by the fire. Checked in at the swan taphouse a couple of doors down and greeted by a friendly chap who showed us to our room. Much more spacious than the photos and tastefully decorated - no bright reds, just calm relaxing colours. The views were beautiful… views over the river, we could even see the ironbridge from one of the windows. The bathrooms were clean and towels, toilet rolls, shampoo, soap, hairdryer etc provided. Well done for the good service, clean rooms and a great stay. We would recommend.

Penthouse Suite - a great stay

Stayed at the beginning of August for one night, so glad it was for only one night. 

On arrival we were informed that the Malthouse was closed due to a fire four weeks earlier and there was no access to the amenities in the Malthouse. They had a temporary bar in a small horse box, a food trailer and temporary toilets in the beer garden. Nobody had contact us before hand to inform us of this so we were denied the opportunity to cancel our stay without having to pay for it. 

Our room was a superior room in the annexe. However it was far from superior, the room and hallway was tired and in need of updating, they also had musty smell to them. The rooms were tidy but not clean and falling well short of how they are portrayed on the website.

We had no interaction with staff other than being handed a key from pub down the road and being told how to find our room. 

As our stay included breakfast we had to return to the same pub the next morning where we were provided with excellent breakfast and had to leave the key.

The only positives was the location and the breakfast in the pub down the road.

Stay well clear

The staff were fantastic and due to the malthouse having to temp close we were put up in the penthouse which was fine. However the other room needed a good dust.  However staff were fantastic

When you’re shown to your room after a four hour drive and the damp dated smell hits as the door opens, you realise there is nothing superior about this room. Very tired room, smelt damp and the bedding felt clammy. The bathroom was very tired, mildew around the shower tray, the shower hose was minging and leftover soap and wrappers from the previous occupancy still in the soap tray. 

Definitely worth a miss.
