It was convenient.
What was bad
The wash and shower gel is disgusting and needs changing. Staff were late for breakfast on the Sunday, but no apology. No instructions on the shower led to me getting a medical dressing wet. Room facilities are basic, not even a glass!

What was bad
The breakfast. There was no choice of continental or cooked. Every item of the cooked breakfast was cold despite being on a hot plate of sorts. Tables were not laid so it was self service for all items. I had to have my espresso coffee in a builder’s mug from a machine and the fruit juice from another machine was like coloured water.

We arrived at 2.35pm after a two hour drive and attempted to book in. The receptionist bluntly refused to book us in until 3pm; because of her arrogance and her rude attitude we told her to cancel the booking - suddenly she decided she would book us in. Customer service nil! The room was small and scruffy, carpet was tatty and didn't fit properly. The bathroom was a disgrace, the shower curtain was filthy, and two painted planks of wood w

Our room was on the landing so there was a bit of noise as guests came and went.

Staff were super helpful, and friendly, the building is beautiful and quite obviously full of history
What was bad
Our bathroom was damp, smelly, and not very clean - but more to do with the actual fixtures and decor than the upkeep. The plug was stuck in the sink, and there was damp visible in the ceiling. It felt like staff were doing their best, our room was nicely made up etc, but that the facilities and building need an update before this will be anything
