We were advised the breakfast was on until 10am. Got there at 9:45 and were told it’s on until 9am. No apology no refund for the food we had paid for. Generally just wanted rid of us. Didn’t reply to my email on return either. Very bad customer service

The Buck is friendly and offers a warm welcome. 
We stayed in Room 1 which was spotlessly clean, comfortable double bed with 2 family beds. 
Breakfast excellent, offering 
a variety of fresh fruit, yoghurts, fresh juices and preserves. Then any combination of cooked breakfast, whatever quantity you desire including vegan options. 
The family who run The Buck offer relaxed yet professional hospitality in a lovely public house in the heart of beautiful Reeth. 

Great stay in the heart of beautiful Swaledale 

The Buck was an odd mix - a nice warm room with a very nice bathroom. Really nice staff - breakfast service was fantastic and the breakfast was really nicely cooked. Evening meal was good pub grub - I liked being able to have a small plate. However the public areas were grubby and sticky and quite tired

We had a very pleasant stay.  The common areas might be a bit worn, but the rooms were updated and very clean.  Excellent mattress and two pillows, as well as quiet surroundings ensured a very pleasant stay.
The bathrooms were modern, immaculately clean, good-sized.
The employees were professional, cheerful and helpful.
The restaurant was very good.

It is nice to see the Buck open again as it gives further options re accommodation in the village. I’d booked a family room to ensure plenty of space and, having been recently refurbished, it is very smart and comfortable, and has a spacious and modern en-suite with a fabulous shower.

Breakfast is served in a sort of bar cum games room which gave the ambience of a transport caff. For starters you have fresh fruit, cereals yogurt and juice and the choice for the cooked breakfast is, effectively, whether you prefer large or huge. I chose the small version with an extra rasher of bacon and two eggs and it was a substantial meal. The large version, with two of everything, must be a real belly buster!

Service throughout has been friendly and efficient.


A decent place to stay.

Probably the best pub in the village. Serves very good beer and the food looked ok although we didn’t eat. Staff were friendly but I could do without the sensory overload from the TV’s showing darts and football while competing with U2 at 6pm in the evening. I appreciate pubs try to attract customers but many will be turned off by the ‘everyone loves sport’ phenomena when all they want is a quite pint at the end of a long day.

TV’s competing with music don’t make happy bed fellows.

We visited the Buck ,not to stay, but we drank , ate and went to the entertainment at some point on each day/night  of our 4 night break in Reeth.
The Buck is a lovely traditional pub,  friendly staff, good food and drink at reasonable prices. Especially the Dark Fruits cider on draft!!!! 
Pooch friendly.
Quiz night was great too. 
It was also nice to chat with both locals and other tourists.
Will definitely be returning.
We loved each time we were there so thank you!

Great traditional pub in lovely Reeth.

Amazing location in the village and an even more amazing breakfast.
Nice comfortable bed with a lovely shower.
Good real ales at the bar.
Arrived when weather was cold, arrived for a lunch time drink and there was a real fire.

this has to be one of the best stays i have had the room was fab loveley and warm bed was great shower room huge food was fantastic have the burger wife had homemade pie was great breakfast was fantastic proper fat sausages mmmmm shaun and staff really friendley proper comfy hotel will be going back

We have just had a fabulous break at The Buck Reeth - Shaun, Stacey and staff made us feel really welcome and did everything they could to make us comfortable.
The pub is a real village  local set in a beautiful part of the Yorkshire Moors - good beers and lovely pub grub what more could you want -   shaun and stacey we wish you every success at The Buck at Reeth!
