Lovely B&B, very friendly staff member greeted us at the door on arrival and every time we went out and came back. 
Spacious ground floor family room ready for 2 adults and 2 under 10s. Very generous tea and coffee supplies waiting for us that were topped up every day. Plenty of storage space with a nice large cupboard to store our pushchair. 
Shower cubicle was on the small side but still usable, no water saving happening as couldn't get any more than 1 in at a time. 
No parking at the property but very close to a large multistory pay and display car park.
Close to the beach and multiple places to eat though would recommend booking in advance at pubs and restaurants as not many walk ins available for dinner time. 
Couldn't fault the place for the price we paid will definitely look to book here again in the future.

Lovely place to stay

we spent 4 days at the Garfield .Unfortunatly my husband was unwell some of the time .our hosts could not have made us feel more wellcome and nothing was too much trouble (Milan even offered to make soup for my husband)  the room was spotless the bed large and comfy.Breakfast was  1st class. We have made up our minds to revisit in the future.

best hosts ever

This is a great little place for our family budget in the high season, we had the family room, bunks in the corner and a double. This was as expected, comfortably adequate to use as a base to explore beautiful Devon. Importantly the place was clean and tidy. Central location, literally 100 yards from the beach and 500 yards from the main town and station. The owner is a friendly gentleman who will see to your needs. Breakfast is ordered in advance, and is up to standard. It’s one of those where you will get exactly what you pay for. I phoned them directly, outside of the main booking sites and got a great deal. No parking though, will cost you about £10 a day. Marketed as budget, and does exactly what it says on the tin. If it’s a base to explore your after, at a good price, with a great location. This could be for you

We stayed at Garfield lodge for 4 nights with my family, it is a lovely b&b, Raj and Milan are the perfect hosts and breakfast was lovely every morning, they can't do enough for you, we wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

Great little break

Garfield lodge was a fantastic place to stay and was perfect for a 1 night stay in Paignton in June 2021. 
What made it so good was the location with it being very close to local attractions and shops. Also Raj had brilliant customer service skills. We wish we could of stayed longer.

Great place to stay

Friendly staff rooms wer absolutely spotless and I can say if we ever go back to paignton we will be visiting this hotel again the rooms have everything you need and more and based right on the pier was a great stay.

Wow!

We reserved a room asking if it was on the 1st floor or lower, but on finding out it was a second floor room & unsuitable for our lack of mobility, we said we wouldn't go ahead with the booking.  Although we selected free cancellation when choosing the property with Booking.com Garfield Lodge said that they would be charging a £60 cancellation fee, even after hearing we were disabled and on low benefits.  Booking.com were very unhelpful, saying to take it up with the property, but the proprietor was very rude and unhelpful.

BE CAREFUL BEFORE YOU BOOK

Spotless very clean. Raj, Milan and Rajan are very friendly. They welcome me with a big smile. Plenty of choices for breakfast and you don't go hungry for a long time. They go an extra mile for your comfort. Very comfortable bed in a nice and cosy room. A lovely little guesthouse with good hospitality and friendly people. Nothing to complain.

Holidays

Booked 9 nights. Had 1 cooked brekkie but only after begging for it even though we had paid for breakfast for every day. Was still reluctant to cook it. Offered toast (make yourself) and cereal. Can’t even class it as continental.
Bedding changed once. Room not cleaned. Bin not emptied. Bathroom not cleaned. Had to ask for milk top up.
If their policies had changed they should have contacted us before Free cancellation ended, Before we turned up or offered a discount. Instead, each member of my family got a different excuse for the poor service.
I have been going to Paignton, Devon, staying in bnbs for 13 years and have NEVER had a bad experience until this year. 
I do not recommend this bnb. 
Felt like we were being taken for mugs and feel they were really dishonest and money grabbing.
We did speak to them and gave them this feedback at the end of our holiday. Again, loads of excuses that didn’t ring true blaming it on COVID although all other bnbs were offering cooked breakfasts and cleaning services (met and spoke to other people and bnb owners while there). 

Terrible waste of money.

Please spend a little bit more for a guaranteed service and varied breakfast in another bnb.
