We had a short break at the Board Inn last weekend, and had a lovely time.  Both staff and local people were really friendly and made us most welcome. The room was perfect, spacious, warm and clean. Breakfast was first class with local products, nothing was too much trouble and the best scrambled egg I’ve had for a long time. Excellent value for money and would not hesitate to recommend and are planning to visit again next month we enjoyed it so much.

Short Break

Had a great stay recently at the Board. Room was excellent. Young manager was really helpful and did a great job despite the lack of staff. No chef hence no evening meals but he still managed to produced a cooked breakfast for everyone next morning.
No frills but great value.
Cosy bar, obviously dog friendly, and nice, local atmosphere.
Plenty of other places to eat in the village while they sort staffing out.
Looking forward to staying again soon. Keep up the good work, Dan.

Great stay at the Board.

A great place to stay. The new managers Dan and Casha made us feel very welcoming, they couldn’t have done any more.  

The rooms were very clean at a great price, with the location on the doorstep of all other amnesties.  Next time I visit Hawes I will be staying there again

Great place to stay

We stopped over at The Board Inn on the first night of a little road trip round North Yorkshire and Cumbria. Hawes is really nice with plenty of antique shops and cafes.The day we arrived was the  Swaledale Tup Sale so it was extremely busy with plenty of farmers enjoying the local pubs. Our room was lovely with a massive bed. It overlooked the main market square and had all amenities. It was very clean. We ate in the pub and the food was lovely. I had the lasagne which was delicious with big portion sizes. The room was quiet and qe slept well. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was amazing - hot and freshly cooked when we came down. We had huge pots of tea and coffee with it and a lovely waitress who kept checking if we wanted more drinks or toast. 
I would definitely stay again.

Great dog friendly pub, very welcoming staff and local residents, best pint of Black sheep & Theakstons in Hawes in my opinion, well worth a visit.

We will return very soon in the future for another great pint. 

Week in the Dales

We had booked this hotel for an overnight stay for me and my wife. We brought our dog and this dog friendly location had a couple of rooms allowing pets. Ours was a twin room overlooking the main road through the village. 
Our warm and cosy room came into its own during a particularly stormy twelve hours in this area of the Dales. While the wind and rain battered the windows overnight not a single draught passed the windows. The room well stccked with tea and coffee and cookies. The en suite bathroom and shower more than adequate. 
We booked a table for our evening meal and were given a table in the Snug. The food variety was great and came in generous portions and very tasty. A wide range of beers wines and spirits from the bar. The Cask Marque beers on offer, in particular the Black Sheep and Timothy Taylor were perfect.
Breakfast served in The Snug was excellent. Full English for me beautifully presented. 
A big mention for all of the staff who were very welcoming and amiable.
Would thoroughly recommend this place as a great option for staying overnight in the area and as a base to walk the spectacular region.

Marvellous Venue.

We have just spent three nights at this lovely, friendly hotel. Our room was very comfortable and the staff were so friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them and we really enjoyed drinking in the bar of what is a pub geared towards both locals and tourists. It was nice to sit and drink in a proper bar rather than a pub which is just geared to eating. The beer was well kept and the food good, pub grub. The steak pie though was exceptional. Breakfast was beautifully cooked, we could not fault it.  We ended up here by default as the hotel we were booked in closed becasue of Covid, but we were were very happy that we did. Thank you to the staff for a great stay

Friendly Place to stay

Stayed here for my birthday in January, Got a fantastic deal and we stayed here as they are dog friendly. We booked for 3 nights  staying in room 2 which is a dog friendly room, a very spacious and clean room overlooking the street. Ann and her staff were exceptionally welcoming and nothing was too much trouble for them. We ate here throughout our trip as the food was really tasty and great portion sizes. Open fire in the bar area and good choice of drinks. Breakfast was cooked by Ann's mum and her dad was front of house, both really lovely people who made us feel welcome and again nothing was too much trouble, breakfast was a choice of various options from full English to pancakes and cooked fresh everyday. Scrambled eggs were fantastic and plenty of orange juice, coffee and tea available as well as cereals and toast with jam or marmalade. Parking is available at the front of the pub and we enjoyed our stay thoroughly and will without a doubt be returning. Once again a huge thankyou to Ann and her fabulous team, keep up the great work.

Great Birthday Treat

Warm welcome, comfy and clean bedroom. Open fire, good food and beer. Hot shower and great cooked breakfast to order. Parking right outside with lots of local shops and restaurants if you fancy a change. What more could you need. We will be back.

Perfect stay, warm and welcoming

We popped in for a pint while we were waiting for our accommodation in town to be ready.  Very friendly local boozer with good selection of local ales.  We got chatting to a couple of ladies who were on a day trip from Leeds and enjoyed a pleasant hour or so.
