I chose to go to the Rose and Crown for a lunchtime meet up for my father in law's birthday. I knew that the pub was spacious and that they were taking all necessary Covid precautions.
There was a good varied menu and interesting Thai specials. The landlady took us through the menu, explaining that everything is cooked fresh.
I chose pizza and I was asked to choose my toppings. Others has the home made lasgane and the scampi.
For dessert my mother in law chose the home made coconut ice cream. My hubby chose the sticky toffee pudding....I tried some and it tasted amazing.
The pub had enough people in it to give a good atmosphere but still felt very safe.

Smashing lunch

Found this pub by chance as it didn’t appear in any local searches.
Not a great 1st impression from the outside but don’t let this put you off. 
A lovely home cooked meal, the locals and staff were friendly and the land lady could not do enough for us, highly recommended! 

Great find!

Came across this delightful pub whilst investigating Ledbury and the surrounding area and decided to stop for lunch. Staff very warm and welcoming, all food is homemade and freshly cooked. Had a super lunch. Would definitely return. 

LOVELY LUNCH IN A COUNTRY PUB

We arrived at 11.55, just as they were opening. Welcomed warmly, very friendly. Waited patiently, as we were early. Really lovely lady Roz, beautiful place inside and out! Sooooo accommodating for humans and pooches! Great space for getting together with friends, looks to be fantastic food, but on this occasion we just wanted a pint.
Please visit this beautiful place, it's truly a gem! For your dog to be allowed off the lead, safely in the garden is so important to us and really quite unusual so, thank you so much!! We'll definitely be back. Thanks for my piece of wood too!! Xx

Drive by visit

Staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. Ordered Pizza, slight problem with the sauce (they had ran out) but they were very apologetic with it. When the Pizza came out it was very nice along with the chips.

Arrived in the area for a staycation - made welcome. The food was freshly cooked and everyone pleased with their choices ! Eating out on a Sunday evening is not easy in this area so you need to research and book ahead !

A coach load of us off to the races stopped on route, for a drink. We were welcomed by very friendly staff . As we had arranged to dine there later that day, the landlady took our pre-order and provided a few suggestions where we would like to eat.(in the bar or all together in the function room).
On arriving back to The Rose and Crown we were given a lovely welcome , shown where we were dining. Food promptly served for over 24 people, as we had a limited time scale. Service was excellent along with the food. Everything was served hot and looked delicious.The staff were very friendly. I would recommend the Chicken Pizza, best I’ve had in a long time.  
The facilities were very clean and the place had a fresher look and a new bar area put in since our last visit. 
All the best to The Rose and Crown for the future.
Definitely worth a stop.

Cheltenham races refuel stop

The new landlords served us tasty home cooked steaks and  falafel (three of us) everything was cooked perfectly. The atmosphere was pleasant and our hosts were very friendly. We will definitely be back. 

Lovely food

We stopped at the Rose and Crown for lunch by chance and what a good choice it was! The ploughman's platter for two was good quality and huge! Very generous chunks of Cheddar, Stilton, Brie and Wensleydale Cranberry cheeses. Two thick slices of home cooked ham, homemade Scotch egg, wholemeal and crusty white breads, butter plus a selection of pickles and salad garnish. We could not manage to eat all the cheese so it was wrapped in foil for us to take home. Highly recommended.

Ploughman's platter for two

Fun, relaxed atmosphere with good food. The scotch egg was delicious as were the sirloins. The new team were very friendly and even made me garlic mayonnaise to go with my chips. A very pleasant evening
