Chycara House

Initially found it on Booking.com but we ultimately booked direct with them. I can't remember why. My husband and I booked a 2 night stay at Chycara. What a gorgeous place this is. At first we were slightly annoyed as it seems we were supposed to receive a map of the area a week before we travelled, which we didn't get. As the place is pretty much like a maze, when we turned up, we didn't know where to go and the usual entrance was closed off. We phoned the number on their website, which went to voicemail. We then found what was the main house but there was no-one home, so not a great start. It was 4pm (check-in time) and you could also see other cars starting to turn up and not know where to go. Luckily a lovely young chap came out of the office and he guided us (and everybody else) with a map we were supposed to have received via email, to where we were staying, The Shepherd's Hut. We were finally able to check in and we could then appreciate the area and our accommodation. It's gorgeous. Very serene. It's huge grounds with two two person huts and the rest are family huts. It also has an indoor swimming pool. The Shepherd's Hut we stayed in was gorgeous. It was tastefully decorated with good quality bedding and towels. Shops were approx 11 mins away by car, including a big Sainsbury's with a petrol station. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat. In fact I did try to book dates for next September but unfortunately the dates I wanted are already booked. Highly recommended for a getaway with a difference.
