Have to give it 5 stars. Incredible value for money. I've stayed in plenty places that were much more expensive that didn't offer anything like the value. The outside of the hotel isn't attractive but inside it's warm, modern and clean. Room was to a high standard. Breakfast was good and staff were very friendly. Ok, the shower was a bit under powered but you can't grumble for the price. Would definitely stay again. 

Great value

After I had read some of the reviews on here prior to staying overnight,made me wonder if those who wrote negative reviews had stayed here at all,my personal experience is only one of excellence,from booking in to leaving, my bedroom was so comfortable and warm with a lovely walk in wet room shower, the evening meal was superb with such a great selection on the menu,all home cooked meals,I realy wasn’t sure what to choose,went for home made soup and steak pie, perfection,so much so,I skipped the sweet as was so full.
If your looking for a hotel in Falkirk area,this is the one,I slept like a baby,not a sound!
Well done to ALL the staff,your doing a brilliant job,real professionals,keep it up

Excellent Homely Hotel

Served promptly and the staff were friendly and attentive. Had chicken goujons to start and there were 5 good sized ones on the plate. Usually I expect about two or three so that was a plus to start off with. Had steak pie for main course and it came in a small looking dish, however once the puff pastry was sliced through it became apparent it was full to the top with meat. Sometimes you find some places have more gravy than steak but I had no worries in this occasion. My wife had Macaroni cheese and said it was o e of the best she'd tried. I had a taste and and wasn't too saucy or dry but was just right. Spot on. Really enjoyed our dinner.

Good value dinner with quality dishes

Returning to old stomping ground for a social occassion and haven't stayed here since the 90's. Lovely big room (No. 53) and a very comfy bed. Great walk in wet room bathroom, with a brilliant discreet green night light for those who can't make it thru the night - no stumbles or harsh white lights. For those staying more than one night then a shelf for toiletries would be most useful. Great sleep. Nice and quiet. Good breakfast, although I don't think I've ever had sliced/lorne sausage served. Might be useful to say that on the menu, as I was expecting links

Nostalgic Niceness

I'm currently working a shutdown do home visits are very few and far between for the next few months, I decided to bring my family and little boy up here for the weekend and decided on this hotel for us to stay in and to dine in on the Saturday night. After reading a few dodgy reviews I was a little apprehensive, this was my family first visit to where I lodge and work so I was hoping the few negative reviews were a little, let's say embellished.

From the moment we arrived I can say any predisposed negativity was swiftly out of mind, the staff here really made us welcome, the rooms a really good size and clean, and the overall atmosphere was welcoming and positive. We had my young boy with us, almost 2 year old and he's no bother but he is at the stage where he is curious about everything, door handles, people, anywhere he can toddle etc...Sometimes this is met with frowns and such like when out but he was welcomed and smiled at throughout his stay, obviously he never caused any trouble but it is nice when people interact and encourage rather than treat a curious child as a nuisance.

We booked a table in the restaurant for 19.45, thinking my boy would be asleep by then as usual, then we could put him in his buggy asleep while we ate, sadly he was far too excited being away from home and refused to sleep. I asked the restaurant staff would it be possible to have the last table at around 20.15, explained the situation we found ourself in, they not only managed to accommodate our request but served us some of the finest sirloins on the bone I think I've ever had, perfectly cooked, 20 pounds for a 3 course meal really was fantastic value.

I can't think of anything negative that the hotel could do anything about to make me say I either would not stop here again, or I would want a cheaper rate. There were a few snags but not the hotels fault, or they could do nothing about. We were woken by a drunk fellow singing very loudly in the car park who was swiftly taken in by his partner, this woke my boy up at 00.30 which meant myself and my wife got hardly any sleep, however, the hotel really has no control over that. Only thing I can suggest the hotel looks at is the bathroom bin, seems a shame to renovate the rooms and leave a rusty looking bin sitting there, for a few quid I'd change it out the room along with some of the cladding that has been burnt either with straighteners or a hairdryer in the bathroom, again these are minor, minor snags but I'll put them in here for a balanced review.

Overall I would not hesitate in bringing my family back up at some point to Falkirk and this hotel will be my go to choice, thanks for a quality stay and hopefully next time the drunk karaoke guy chooses to sing in Callendar park instead of outside our hotel room window :p

Excellent staff, food and service

myself and three friends went for an evening meal 
from the moment we went in we were made feel welcome 
as for the menu a good selection  we ordered our food 
didnt wait to long  the food  was very good hot and tasty 
the service was good without pestering us

just by chance

Came here as going to town hall for show. From outside was bit like ohh no. But plesently surprised when inside. Lady on reception was friendly. Checked in quickly. No lift to rooms but only one floor up. 

Had  asked for quiet room however was loud murr in room was told it was from kitchen under room and it be off 930pm. Room is massive 2 double beds but still plenty room. In need update but clean and tidy. Sadly after coming back at 1030pm still noise told reception told of by 11. By 12 was still noise porter said no noise and no other rooms. Decided to leave at 1230am porter found us a room. Cane to our room and yes there noise it was coming from cellar something do with heating. New room was silent and had the best sleep I've had in nearly all hotels.

Had dinner in hotel fantastic value and cooked lovely. However breakfast was bit let down bacon tasted reheated micro and sausages undercooked. Continental was poor. Restaurant room needs tls food splatter on two walls I noticed also 1 table had dirty cloth under a leg to stop it wobble. 

Staff in restaurant great but the lady in reception is a asset to hotel very friendly. Night porter needs better customer service.

Parking is ok and free. 
For 65 for night is good value for a 3 star if had quiet room be more stars.

Could be better

Stayed here at the weekend, good big room, toilet with walk-in shower. Bedding and towels nice and clean. Bed was very firm.A bit of noise in the corridor late on but quitened down after a bit. Although on a main road the double glazing coped well. All the staff we met were friendly and an asset to the hotel. We did not dine in the hotel but had breakfast on both mornings. It was just ok. We chose this hotel for ease of getting into the town, it's a 10 minute walk slightly uphill. If visiting again we would probably  try  another hotel for a better sleep.

Kelpies visit

We stayed there just for 1 night and I honestly wasn't expecting nothing special, but to my surprise the room was very big and spacious and looked really clean. 
Shock happened in the bathroom.
Pubic hair all over the place, in the bath and on the floor, on the toilet. Disgusting. 
Everything else was ok, the staff really kind and nice.

Not bad but also not great

Booked last minute and thought it would be at least ok going by the reviews!! Beds are rock hard and the place is generally pretty tired . The bathroom has been retiled on the walls in white which freshens it up but the floor is dated. Don’t see the point in updating the timing and not putting in a proper walk in shower rather than leaving the out of date bath that was there . Bathroom was dirty , shower curtain and extractor fan photos attached . The shower head wouldn’t stay up and the mixer tap was hit or miss between scalding and ok . In these days if health and safety being a big thing the wire dangling from the tv was surprising.
