Cheap and cheerful, the hotel is awaiting a massive renovation but can't at the moment due to the protection of wildlife around the area, so when they are given the greenlight I can only imagine how amazing it'll be. However the room rates are low at the moment because they know they need a little TLC. But that's not why I gave it a five star rating, the staff are so warm and welcoming and a huge credit to the hotel. From check in to check out what a lovely, friendly and helpful bunch of people! A big thank you to them, especially those working on the 18th Oct when I checked in. The surrounding area and wildlife is also a massive attraction, loads of walking routes and very tranquil.

I recently booked a Sunday night play and stay break for myself and my wife. We played on the Sunday and the Monday and enjoyed a fabulous break at the golf course and hotel. As part of the deal we had an excellent 3 course evening meal with wine included, a substantial full breakfast and a very comfortable room in this excellent hotel. The whole deal came to just under £100 per person and was fully worth every penny.  Every member of staff be it golf course or hotel, went beyond their need to make sure we enjoyed our stay. It would be churlish to single anyone out as they were all so friendly and helpful, but my wife would want me to mention the chef whose personal attention to ensure her food choices were met and exceeded, took us both by surprise. This place is a gem and we will most certainly be going there again.

Enjoyed a 2 day golfing break with 31 friends, we took over the whole hotel. Staff were absolutely superb, nothing was too much trouble. Golf course is very challenging, no 2 holes alike and set in beautiful countryside.

Would highly recommend, absolutely unbelievable value for money.

Really enjoyed overnight golf break with friends. The layout of the course was challenging in places but very enjoyable. A very peaceful location with open views to surrounding countryside. The food was better than expected for the price and our stay was overall excellent value for money.

Just returned from an excellent ladies golfing group overnight stay at Farthingstone.       Fantastic value for money.    It was clean, very well run, the food was excellent and the  staff could not have been more helpful prior to and during our visit.   The setting is delightful and the golf course is  very varied, quiet, with wonderful views.   Thank you.

My wife and I have just returned from a 3 night golf break at what is a tremendous little gem, set in tranquil surroundings and served by outstanding staff and courteous caring members.
Mike, the worldy experienced  pro and assistant were a pleasure to chat with and nothing was too much.
The course, although undergoing some seasonal work was still a pleasure to play and will be more so with time. Testing, pretty, tricky and tranquil, with no pretentions, great to play.
The lodge/hotel is simple, clean and does the trick with a fine breakfast and evening selection, in lovely surroundings and the most courteous staff and management.

Just returned from a two night golf break at Farthingstone. For the price you pay you can not fault this place. 

The bedrooms are clean and spacious in our room we had a 3quater and a single . The room also had a separate toilet and bathroom..

Both the evening meal on both nights and the two breakfast were of very good quality and were served quickly. All the staff at the hotel were very helpfull and friendly.

The hotel in places is looking  bit tired but this in no way affect our enjoyment. 

The golf course is a  challenging par 70 and the tee boxes fairways and greens were all in great condition .

I wouldn’t Hesitate to return to Farthingstone even if you didn't use the golf for £200 for two night dinner bed and breakfast 4 pints of beer you can't go wrong.

Excellent value for money, golf course in good condition and very safe environment. Hotel shut unfortunately due to current climate. Christian and his team made us feel very welcome and had a well stocked clubhouse. Will be going back.

This place provides excellent value for money and great service. As a group we have been frequenting Farthingstone for 5 years. Never have had any issues.

We booked as part of a golf trip and were not disappointed. The hotel is friendly and welcoming the staff are a pleasure to talk to . The food is as good as anywhere at all the breakfast was to die for especially . 
The golf course had seen alot of rain in recent weeks and suffered due to it.  The green especially were not in perfect condition however the course is very challenging and difficult . It has been a pleasure to stay there and would recommend to anyone at all
