Gleadhill Farm

Gleadhill Farm is a lovely old stone farmhouse in a fine garden set among green fields and woodlands. The house is fascinating, full of art, books and quirky objets, all of which give the house an attractive feel. Our hostess Angela was welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was super, with homemade marmalade as a particular highlight (hope we left some for future guests!). We very much look forward to stay there again.

A lovely and well kept B&B with off street parking. Angela and Vince, the hosts, are very friendly and welcoming. We had a very large, clean and comfortable room, with sitting area, overlooking the spacious and well maintained grounds. 
There is a library, for guest's use, at the top of the stairs.
Breakfast was wonderful. We had pancakes w/caramelized bananas.

I arrived at Gleadhill Farm in appalling weather and was shown up to a clean and comfortable en-suite room. The situation is quiet but the night wasn't as peaceful as I'd hoped as there were people passing my room in the night on very squeaky floorboards. Breakfast was served downstairs in a corridor room and was adequate and very tasty.  Lots of books to read ...

A really nice stay

Very Nice and Comfortable B&B

Certainly Quirky

As a late booking the B&B was conveniently placed with Chorley only 12-15 mins drive. 
The facility has 4 guest rooms: two in the main farmhouse and two in a converted barn / stable block. We stayed in the 'orange Room ' which is one of the converted building rooms. 
There has been some thought put into the facility with the two rooms located upstairs and a lounge room and communal kitchen located downstairs. The kitchen has a microwave and prep area.
The room itself was ok with high level velux Windows providing light into the room but too high to provide a view. Due to the hot weather the proprietor had kindly provided fans in the room which were a blessing.

Although we didn't eat in for evening meal this facility is available if pre booked. We chose to eat at the Blue Elephant Indian Restaurant to the West about 1 mile on Dawber Lane towards Croston and this place was fabulous.
Breakfast was fine and cooked to order in the main house with cereals and fruit available on a self serve basis. The experience is homely and we chatted to the other guests on both mornings. 
Looking at some of the comments there is mildew in the shower which is unsightly. The proprietors are a more 'mature couple' and if I had spotted it earlier I would have offered to reseal it for free as they were such a lovely couple. Unfortunately we were meeting family so had to dash. 

Overall a nice guest house with owners wishing to please.

An OK Sort of Place

We were met and made welcome and shown to our room which was inn the annexe.   This looked very nice until we noticed the shower and tiles which were not at all clean and we did not fancy using the shower at all.
