After a dismal night in Hay-on-Wye this was fantastic. Yes the stairs are narrow but what do you expect in such an old building. The bed was huge and very comfortable, there was a bath with piping hot water and the shower above was excellent.
Tina had left some old newspapers out to stuff in our wet boots (we were walking Offas Dyke).
Breakfast was great, freshly cooked by Tina.
Cannot recommend here highly enough.

Excellent B&B near the OD Path, near all of the town's amenities - cafes, pubs, restaurants, shops - and only about 200m from the path itself. Great big comfortable room with a spacious bathroom and bath with piping hot water, always a delight after a good day's walk. Plenty of choices for an evening meal and good ales close by. A superb breakfast and delightful host. It's an old 17C building so be prepared for low ceiling beams and narrow stairs! There's a beer garden on one side which could be noisy at times I guess but it didn't bother me.

We were walking Offas Dyke and needed accommodation for 1 night. We booked B&B and then Tina the host offered us a Tapas Meal in the evening for the 6 of us. The rooms were very clean and of a good standard - although you did have to go up two flights of stairs. Tina our hostess was very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The Tapas were excellent and we could bring our own wine

Spacious room.  Great breakfasts.  Very helpful hostess - there was something we mentioned that we thought was missing and she obtained it for us by that evening.  She gave good advice on restaurants in the town.  Also runs a tapas bar on the ground floor which we enjoyed.  Some noise from nearby pub on one night - I think it was the Sunday evening - wasn't a bother to us.   Location in the middle of Kington, convenient for everything in the village.  Also good for walking Offa's Dyke path - we chose several short sections in our few days.  Doesn't have its own car park, but there is a free one a short walk away.  For anyone tall, watch your head! 2 floors up - this was OK for us.   Good value.

This place is really friendly. It is located above a Tapas bar, doesn’t have on site parking but there is a car park nearby.
A friend and myself booked out the two lovely spacious and newly refurbished rooms.
Lovely oak beams, massive well equipped bathrooms, with nice touches such as shower Gel and shampoo.

The hostess and her son couldn’t have been more accommodating.

The rooms were excellent value and a lovely home cooked breakfast was included in the price.

I agree with the other review that the stair case leading to the rooms is a little shabby, and could do with sprucing up a little.

We had a pizza in the Tapas bar below in the same establishment, in the evening and it was home made,  and amazing.

The rooms are Next to a pub so a little noisy on a Friday evening, but quietened down around 11pm.

All in all a lovely little find and we will return.


Ideally located, right in the centre of town.  Room was spacious and full of character.  Bathroom positively radiantly  clean. Breakfasts and dinner very good value - staff very friendly and helpful.  Lovely informal atmosphere.  Would stay here again.

This B&B is above a bistro in Kington high street, there is no parking on site but free parking a few minutes away. 
We stayed in a lovely spacious roof room with ensuite, the bed was large and very comfortable. 
The stairwell up to the rooms could do with a little modernising. 
Breakfast is included and we had the full English which was delicious. 
Wifi is free and signal was good. 
The owner was very friendly. 
The only downside was the noisy pub next door which went on to the early hours, but not a reason to downgrade this place. 
I would definitley choose 36 to stay at next time we are in the area.

Situated above a Thai restaurant in central Kington.  I cannot recommend given the price tag; no breakfast, rather inaccessible rooms, drafty and an uncomfortable bed. Shower was good!  In my opinion, a curious and unsatisfactory arrangement for an overnight stay. I am sure better value is available in Kington.
