If you are looking for a place which is conveniently located, gracefully designed, well maintained and to be welcomed by a wonderful and hospitable person, then Gatley Homestay is the best place. It is well connected to Manchester airport and railway station. Hilary is the most loving and helpful host I have ever experienced. I recently visited Stockport and spent 3 nights at Gatley Homestay. Had a wonderful experience of being there and certainly look forward to go back again. The beautiful accommodation gives a feeling of a home away from home, in true sense. You can have your privacy as well can have the experience of being at home. Hilary is a cheerful, happy woman and ready to guide/suggest, if you seek her advice for anything. I choose to stay at Gatley Homestay because of the good reviews by fellow travellers. It gives me immense pleasure to share my experience, which will help others to avail the opportunity to experience their stay. I will always count it as one of my best stays. We were flying out from Manchester airport so we got the train from Glasgow and decided to stay overnight. Found this wee gem of a place

Home from home

Gatley Homestay is well worth a stay and is easy for a connection to Manchester airport. Hilary is a very welcoming host. The location is close to food outlets both  for eating in or carryout. Continental breakfast is of a good selection.

Very handy stopover for manchester airport

Me and my husband stayed here for one night before a morning flight from Manchester airport. We stayed here because of the good reviews and high score on booking.com and having stayed here I can see exactly why this home stay has such a high rating. Hilary who owns/runs it is just the most lovely lady. She goes out of your way to make you feel at home and is helpful right from when you make the booking to when you leave.

The room we stayed in was decorated very nice and most importantly, the beds were very comfortable! There was a shared bathroom but this wasn't a problem as there's only 2 rooms so it's not like you're fighting for the bathroom.
Hilary helpfully told us the directions for walking into Gatley to get food - which we did. There's plenty of choice. But you can use the kitchen facilities if you wanted to pick something up and cook it yourself. A continental breakfast that you help yourself too is also included and there's even a dishwasher so you don't even have to wash up. This place really is great. It's a great price, a great location for the airport and a really great host in Hilary.  We'll definitely stay here again if we're flying from Manchester.

Great location for the airport and a lovely welcoming host

Very handy for our flight the next day. Beds were very uncomfortable, sorry to say. Hardly got any sleep. Went to watch TV & felt like we were intruding. Although Hillary was very nice. Continental breakfast a bit disappointing.  My wife doesn't eat cereal.  We were hoping to make a cheeky sandwich as had to leave at 4am. Mostly cereal, bread & brioche .On the positive side, Hillary made us feel welcome. Because we left so early in the morning, we felt restricted by consideration to others in the house..
