When we turned up there was no one at the reception but the cleaner let us in and we were then informed that all the touring holidays were meant to have been cancelled but we could stay if we wanted.
We then st up up the caravan on a pitch that was very spacious, that was when we met Chris the maintenance man on site he was very helpful and is doing a great job of looking after the site.He explained the situation again and told us that the park equipment had been removed etc. We decided to stay for the week as planed and I am glad we did the shower block is one of the best at a site we have stayed at it was so peaceful and also close to the beach.Would love to stay again next year if it is still open  and hopefully see the very helpful Chris who is doing a great job of looking after the place

Had booked for August but site closed down, no communication and money was taken previous month. Not been able to get in touch with anyone to sort out.
Disappointed as we had booked over busy bank holiday weekend following another stay further south in Cornwall. Had to rebook elsewhere and pay more money.

Site closed

We arrived at the site to find nobody at reception and the shop was shut. We assumed this was because we arrived after 5pm? Fortunately we managed to find a local Morrisons and Lidl quite quickly to get some supplies. The site itself is small, quiet and well maintained. Initially I thought we might be bored, but the amount of open spaces for our kids and dog without intruding on others meant that this site grew on us. We really enjoyed being here and it was perfect base from which to explore the surrounding area.

Grew to love it!

Just back from the bank holiday weekend. Lovely little campsite, beautiful views, lovely staff, friendly, very quiet. Facilities were cleaned regularly. We were warned about an issue with a leak in ladies bathroom but was not as bad as described. Will definitely be back again. Perfect campsite.

Lovely little campsite.

We stayed here as a family for our first camping holiday as a family, we usually stay in caravans but thought we would try something different. 

Perfect location, close to town and beaches which are some of the most beautiful beaches we’ve seen. Park was very quiet and felt very safe. 

When we arrived we was greeted by the manager who was lovely and assured us that if we needed anything or had any problems we could speak to him whenever. Shower and toilet blocks seemed to be clean, and lots of space on the fields for our kids to run around. 

Shop was open and had everything we needed and wasn’t too pricey either. Unfortunately there isn’t a kids play park, however my kids were able to run around on the fields with a football and we’re happy enough. 

Overall had a fantastic stay and was made to feel welcome by all
Staff on park :) would definitely recommend and will come again. Thank you

Beautiful park

We recently stayed at Widemouth for the very first time prior to visiting we had read some mixed reviews so we’re not sure what to expect.

However we can not rate Widemouth highly enough it was a truly amazing staycation.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the park manager Matt who was friendly and always willing help and that continued throughout our stay with all the staff greeting us daily as they went about their day. We were surprised to have seen Matt as we recognised him from TVs happy campers and he was nice enough to let us have a cheeky picture.

The park itself is extremely well looked after has all the basic facilities you would require and you can see they are putting a lot of hard work into improving the park’s image.

The showers are by the best we have had while camping and the shower and toilet facilities are by far some of the cleanest I have ever seen you will not be disappointed by the standards here even during the busier times it remained spotless and fresh. Far from the experience of some others guests who had reviewed however if people have to go taking pictures under cabinets then that is a sign there was no real uncleanliness in plain sight.

the park is beautifully quiet and well located to explore all Cornwall has to offer and for us it was perfect back to basics camping.

We will be staying again that’s for sure thanks for a great stay Matt & team

Happy Campers we are

Me and my wife have had a fantastic stay at Widemouth Fields. We came during the heatwave so had perfect weather aswell. Lots of space to walk our dog and very quiet. Manager was very friendly. Toilet and shower blocks were clean and very warm which was lovely as most parks we stay at are freezing cold. Lovely views, great holiday overall.

Lovely break

My family and I stayed recently at widemouth fields resort. 25th July to 4th August. 
On a positive note before I complain 
We arrived a lot earlier than anticipated and after speaking to a lovely lady on the telephone she contacted the site manger to allow us to pitch up earlier, which was most appreciated. 

We chose to stay here having stayed previously when owned by Aria resorts. 
The park is still being advertised as it was by previous owners.

1. Play area big wooden play area for kids is gone with a pathetic cheap pair of football goals as entertainment for children (very disappointed) 

2. Camping field…. Not used as was before and placed where statics were previously blown over by high winds and the ground was hard standing getting the pegs in was a labour within itself 

3. Family bathrooms with bath (a major factor in booking this site) were unavailable as were being used as stores…my son hates the shower and the showers are very powerful (which was great for me) but for my son a huge issue as well as the temperature of the water was way too hot for young children. 
My son slipped in the shower and banged his head ….I brought this to the attention of the manager, who’s response was that oh they are not normally like that!!! 
No accident form filled out or question to ask if he was ok? 
My response to him was that I had almost slipped myself trying to save my son from the fall but don’t worry he seems to be ok…I was absolutely disgusted at the lack of concern.

4. The cleanliness of the shower and toilet areas is absolutely shocking and disgusting. 
A constant sewage smell and the manager (who apparently does everything himself) needs some lessons in cleaning . 

5. On-site shop no longer there (would have been nice to buy fresh milk on a morning as we did previously) and to be able to buy extra refreshments etc whilst staying. 

I understand that Aria may have been a tad naughty when vacating the site as that seems to be the managers main topic and the fact he needs to do everything himself but I’m sorry we did not get the holiday we expected when booking if these factors had been brought to my attention before booking I certainly would not have booked. 
The potential is there for a lovely family oriented site as long as the emphasise does not solely focus on owners and appreciation for families wanting to camp and provide services to them also (I believe the bar getting reinstated is for owners only) 

I have done a  complaint email but this was directed to the manager (Whom I expect will reply with the same defensive statement I received) 
But sorry the cleanliness of the showers is just unacceptable….photo attached where this was present during our whole stay.

Such a shame (used to be amazing)

Having booked a quiet camping holiday, we were pleased to find we got just that. There is nothing on site. Just a big field and washing, washing up and disposal facilities. There is no park, no shop etc. 
For us this wasn't an issue though we love to explore and the site is a miles walk from Widemouth bay and black rock cafe. 
The showers were roasting hot and very powerful and the washing up facilities are great as plenty. Everything was pretty clean too. Better than quite a lot of places.
 
The only let down was the lack of park as with a small child this would have been helpful. 
There are no glamping pods so these must have changed. There are some caravans at the top end. 
Rabbits everywhere which is lovely and site is very dog friendly. There seems to be changes being made as reception building was having work done. 
Someone in site mentioned the site is closing but not sure if that's true. Overall, a lovely base with good access to tourist spots.

Great if you want quiet.

This is a missed opportunity of the site owners, it could be a lovely site. we’ve recently returned from staying in a static caravan. There was no glamping pods in the field and both that field and the camping field was overgrown, the showers/loos had no sign above the doors and the doors needed replacing, The site is so peaceful and could be a gem in light of people doing staycation for their holidays.
