Selene Beach & Spa Hotel

This is a great hotel. Good for us and we would visit again. However there were a couple of things which weren't ideal. Hopefully it's helpful to know about these before you book! Arrival, we arrived at 5am. The welcome was very poor. We were given no information or help. We had travelled for 10 hours and weren't offered food or told that there was a bar open where we could get tea coffee juice and water. When other guests arrived during the day they were helped to their rooms. In our case the receptionist was distracted by something outside... it was a terrible start. But when we were picked up for departure the day staff were fantastically helpful. The food range and quality was good. Loved the omelette bar for breakfast. I wouldn't recommend the a la carte particularly but it was okay. Entertainment was mainly great, the circus acts and live band were absolutely fab!! However on Tuesday there was a party night which was 'horrific' really loud, poor music and even in our room the walls vibrated!! The grounds are small but lovely and well cared for. The hotel is very close to another hotel and the noise from that hotel can be quite imposing. It didn't bother us too much and it wasn't constant but if peace and quiet is important to you should bear it in mind. If you stay here I would reccomend: The beach is great. The quality of the inclusive drinks are excellent and there are different options at each bar. The Hammam experience was great The snack bar food is excellent. Plenty of shops easily walkable without having to get a bus into down. The room was spacious clean and well equipped with a full size fridge and a kettle. The patisserie was great... iced lattes in particular. The sea view is absolutely worth it here. We would absolutely visit again. Though we hope the party night has better music next time... or the volume is lower!!
