Excellent
155 reviewsDon't be misled by my rather high 5* rating: this is not a 4 or 5 stars. Definitely not at this price (30$ for a double room) but definitely the best 2 star hotel I've ever been at! Actually a really good 3 star hotel! Before carrying with my detailed review I must point out that I have been several times in Thailand, and in Chiang Mai in particular, therefore you'll see some references to my previous trips. My Pros Cleanliness: spotless ! Excellent bed with very firm mattress, excellent for your back after long days walk lot of light in the room (absolutely unusual in most of the hotels anywhere) Very hot shower (up to scalding hot if you like it that way) Good water pressure (unusual in Thailand) Excellent absorbing big towels All the appliances required are present in the room even the rare ones hair dryer, safe, anti mosquitoes, aroma/perfume (just look at the many pictures) Maybe the only goodie missing...slippers, but definitely not to expected below 4 stars Excellent service: I had for example asked to print my flight check in forms and was answered immediately, and with a smile. Continental Breakfast was basic but the croissant was excellent, rivaling with french quality , (I'm French btw) and the coffee was far good enough for me. Just don't hesitate to ask for a refill would you need it since you receive a single cup and not a pot. My Cons Very helpful desk but their English is not good, they try though. So the main limitation is the lack of good English... but there is ample good will, plenty of it, again with a smile, still they have to understand what you need: do what I did, get some help from ...Google and every problem is solved. Some other tiny problem in the bathroom that wasn't addressed during our 5 day stay, but not critical Breakfast from 7:30 only, wished it were earlier to start my day earlier Breakfast basic with 6 options only (see the pic) that you must select the day before meaning no buffet: you get a continental breakfast with counted number of toasts (3), 10g of buffet and jam, 1 cup of coffee with 30cl of milk, 1 egg Or American style , or dumplings, or sticky rice, or steamed rice. Bottom line: If you know the TV series "Dharma and Greg ", this is a "Greg" hotel, meaning modern. If you prefer the "Dharma" style, then you have another hotel: PhaThai house, 80m on the same street to the east that we also visited: same price, rooms less equipped but Thai style with a spacious lobby and garden. That's it, hope it'll help you. PS I have attached plenty of pictures to help you make your mind.
