Where to start? This hotel has one thing going for it. It is near the park. After that it kind of abuses that advantage given the price. The hotel has zero atmosphere and although the staff seem pleasant enough at the personal level, the hospitality overall is abysmal. Many hostels are much more accommodating and warm.

The room was very old school, and the bathroom just was not clean. The bed mattress and linens, and bathroom towels are very thin and tired looking and should have been replaced long ago.  But there WAS a fairly new looking TV in the room.

The restaurant is all done and dusted by seven thirty pm and if you miss dinner (some might say you were lucky) all there is is instant noodles from the lobby shop. The "coffee shop" has quirky hours of operation, but that won't matter when you see that the "coffee" is the same as they let you serve yourself at breakfast. The coffee shop appears to offer very little else. Big glass cabinet with only a few iron eggs in it.

Taiwanese breakfast looks like warmed up dinner leftovers from the night before. It doesn't appear to be typically breakfasty stuff. But don't worry. You can get cereal...if you like your cereal with hot milk, that is. The milk is hot because it is made from milk powder and hot water. (the powder dissolves better in hot water). Just toast? Okay if you like the lurid yellow "butter" substitute. The coffee... looks like coffee. There is a passable, military-look egg station. The food issue is quite important if you plan to be burning calories all days hiking around the park.

But, this hotel is near the park. If you plan to stay here, I recommend you have very low expectations of this hotel and it will deliver on that. It typifies what happens to a business which faces little to no nearby competition. I imagine it will be unchanged in ten years' time.

If you should be the manager reading this, please note that my Taiwanese companions to the hotel agreed with these comments and suggested some of them as feedback.

If you are looking for disappointment, you might not be disappointed.

Though we could not book this hotel online, we asked help by local to book and pay for the hotel. Beware that there are 2 separate hotels and 1 cabin logs. 
This time we stayed at the Theme Hall hotel, due to full occupancy at the better Main hotel. Very basic but considering the location we have no complaint. Next time will make sure to book the main hotel rooms. 

A few good reasons why you must bring your young kids and elderly:
1. Fresh good air in the morning, before the bus shuttles start running around.
2. Good energy and many negative ions near the waterfall area
3. Many trails to walk through, for younger & fitter visitors
4. Walking in the rains at the jungle may be a memorable moment for some of us or kids later on 
5. Most incredibly, at summer night (throughout July), our family watched thousands ... I really meant it .. thousands of fireflies .. what an enchanting moment for all of us ..
We will come back again to this place for sure .. We are very impressed with hospitality and friendliness of Taiwanese locals during lunch break area.. sharing their food and offering seats ..

Taiwan’s Hidden Gem - kids must visit!

We stayed here for two nights. The natural park itself is fun and beautiful. However it is really sad that the hotel seems to have the monopoly on food and accommodation . They only serve Chinese food and if you are used to it,although not cheap , it's quite good and healthy . However, you would expect more for the price. The staff is friendly and really tried to accommodate our wishes. The biggest shock was, the carpet and the wall in our room were moldy. (See the pictures) 

Dreadful

Old, big room but most important it's clean. The only thing you can enjoy is its surrounding, beautiful landscape, cool fresh air BUT  stay 1 night will be just fine; more than that, you will get bored!
The breakfast & dinner is just very normal and always crowded in the restaurant. The coffee machine also not functioning well which is very annoying! To get a cup of coffee, it will take ages & long queue built up just for morning coffee.

Old but clean hotel

First up, the location is beautiful, if you can get away from the car parks and crowds. The hotel itself can, at best, be described as shabby. There were none of the recreational amenities advertised in the brochure (pool table, table tennis - we were there in the pouring rain) and the gym was pathetic. The breakfast buffet was only Asian food and required nerves of steel to compete with the bus loads of tourists elbowing their way to the tables. Unfortunately, there doesn't seem to be any alternative accomodation in Sun link Sea, though the sights were day trip doable, if you stayed nearby. 

Big hotel lobby with an open space gym just beside it. The rooms are located at the far end of the lobby with 1 small lift serving it. The room was small, modern and clean. The room would be comfortable if the heater worked for my room. We had to wear jacket and socks during our sleep. 

The temperature dropped to below 10 degree Celsius in the evening but there was no heater in the lobby, common corridor and the restaurant. 

Stay okie 

The resort hotel room was clean and spacious. Ideal for family with children to spend a day or two.
Service was above par. Food was fine and portion was appropriate.
The walk was fantastic, easy for all ages, and the air was so fresh that I almost wanted to put it in a bottle!
