Big Bear Hotel

We were stranded in Kaohsiung for 4 more days because of a typhoon which canceled our flight back to Manila on Dec 3 and was rebooked by Air Asia on the next available flight on Sat, Dec 7. We were a family of 4 adults and had limited funds since we were already there for 6 days, including 2 days in Tainan. We were all set to go home but had to move to a cheaper hotel because of limited funds and had 4 more days to go. We then proceeded to look for a nice clean hotel that was located near the Formosa Blvd Station as we had purchased unli train passes to be able to see and enjoy the places we have not yet been to. Lo and Behold we found this cute and really nice hotel that had comfortable beds and super nice staff. They were so courteous and easy to talk to we even had access to free coffee everyday, the whole day :) The room was big and comfy to fit all 4 for us, my husband and I together with my 2 adult boys. Their room and bathroom were clean and had hot water, there was even a small fridge to keep our leftover food in. On our last day, they even helped us order 2 boxes of really good pizza! :) We did not expect our extended vacation to feel like a real family vacation in spite of the canceled flights. It turned to a blessing in disguise to be able to stay 4 more days and enjoy what Kaohsiung had to offer, good food, efficient train rides, nice weather, and wonderful locals. We are definitely coming back to Kaohsiung and will surely stay in this simple, cozy, clean hotel.
