Great place for the Taiwanese homestay experience (10/10 recommend doing so when traveling in Taiwan) and Alishan tea - you can do a tea tasting downstairs. They have fluent English and French speaking staff, making this a great place to stay for foreign travelers (when they're able to come again to Taiwan) and Taiwanese-Americans who may not be fluent in Chinese back during COVID since the Alishan area isn't the easiest to travel in. A great alternative to stay in compared to the places in Alishan park which are overpriced and generally not great. Wish I booked a two day stay instead for more time to explore tea fields, but I had limited time off work. Rooms are spotlessly clean and obvious care and love put into it by the family who runs it, three generations living together. Hallways have the sweet smell of tea. Comfortable place to rest before (nice beds!) and after long hikes. Walking distance of view of sunrise over tea fields and sunset to see the famous ridiculously beautiful Alishan cloud seas.
