Although after reading the excellent reviews online, I had high expectations when arriving to the retreat, but what eventual experience I had, it exceeded all the possible expectations on how much you do actually heal there. 
What made it so effective was the attention to detail by team members on all aspects of the retreat: from perfect planning focusing on different chakra each day during breath-work, yoga & workshops, to a very safe and supportive social space allowing you to really immerse in provided tools to heal and become more mindful in such a short time. 

As a coffee addict and meat eater, I thought it will be challenging to adapt to a strict vegan diet with no coffee, however I now think it only helped me in the practices. Plus the food was so delicious! 

Although practicing conscious connecting breathwork can be quite intense, it is a life changing experience and would recommend this retreat to anyone who is in need of a wake up call in their life and wants to be present. What does make Green Peace Inn exceptional is that you go through intense healing journey in quite a short time feeling safe, energized, accepted and supported by the amazing team and your fellow group members. 

This was one of a lifetime experience bringing so much joy and clarity in your mind, body and soul!   Although I am devastated the retreat is now over, I am so grateful I can now start living my life being present with the tools provided during the retreat.

Absolutely perfect healing retreat with the most devoted and inspiring team behind your self transformative journey!

My partner and I stayed at Green Peace Inn for one week in January 2020 for a yoga and meditation retreat. 

Not only did the retreat change our lives, we were also fed some of the most delicious vegan food we’ve ever had. The operators of the retreat, Alex and Martina, are incredibly down-to-earth, friendly, and knowledgeable about yoga, meditation, consciousness, etc. and they exude very joyful and positive vibes. We felt like part of the family as soon as we walked in on the first day - greeted with hugs and big smiles. We felt so comfortable at Green Peace and it really felt like home. 

We had two yoga classes each day put on by various instructors (AM and PM), three guided meditations throughout the week, one group singing circle (which was amazing) during the week and one group breathwork session (which was also amazing) during the week. There was also plenty of downtime to go to the beach (about 20 metres away), hang out at the Inn (there are many places to relax), go into Weligama city, or work on your individual practice (the entire space is inspiring and conducive to this). 

Vegan breakfast and dinner were provided and are included in the cost. Portions were great and there was always extra food at the end of the meal if anyone was still hungry. A vegan dessert was also provided after dinner each night. The food was something that everyone looked forward to before each meal, with each one being unique and creative. It was clear that a lot of love went into making each meal. We really appreciated the time we took before each meal to think of something we were grateful for, followed by smelling the food and looking at the colours and textures of the food. There was a big focus on being present while eating. 

The yoga classes were of high quality and varied in difficulty. Morning classes were quicker-paced vinyasa classes and evening classes were restorative/yin classes, which was a perfect set-up. Yoga classes were suitable for all levels and there was a lot of instruction regarding proper alignment of poses. 

Guided meditations were also great, with plenty of good instruction and various types of meditations provided. The group breathwork session was amazing and inspiring. They also offer private breathwork sessions, which we did and were well worth it. 

Additional positives include: free herbal tea all day (with many different varieties, all grown and produced in Sri Lanka), free water refill (and encouragement to bring your own reusable water bottle), a focus on no plastic and minimal waste, a library to borrow books from, yoga mats/blocks/straps provided, a cafe with a small lunch menu (additional cost), and a cooking class with a friendly local Sri Lankan woman (additional cost). 

Overall, this experience was one of the greatest we have ever had and we would highly recommend for anyone who is remotely interested in yoga, meditation, or deepening their spiritual practice. We will make every effort to attend more retreats at Green Peace Inn in the future. Thank you!

 Amazing vegan and eco-friendly yoga and meditation retreat!

This place is an absolute gem, and I can't recommend it highly enough. Green Peace Inn was the venue for our recent teacher training course, and it made our 3 week experience so special!
We were welcomed in with open arms, hugs and big smiles, and looked after the whole way through.
Green Peace Inn is so much more than just a place to stay, it's really like a home, with the best family vibe, amazing yoga and delicious vegan food, run by a beautiful (talented & knowledgeable) team of people who put their entire hearts into all that they do. You can feel it!!

I absolutely loved it!

My team and I held a yoga teacher training at Green Peace Inn this November and I can bearly express how much we enjoyed working with them and having use of this beautiful space. 

The food was unreal, the rooms were perfect, the yoga space great and all our mad needs and requests met. 

Best of all was the vibe of the place. It just buzzes. It's a long hug, big smile kind of place. And for me, that's worth more than any fancy shampoo or an infinity pool. 

Thanks so so much guys, we hope we can find a way to do something here again in the future!

A great place to hold trainings and retreats

What a magic place! Open, comfortable and super friendly - I felt at home right away. Very nice rooms, awesome vegan food - and the yoga was something I really enjoyed every day.

The communal table for eating, it made it easy to have great conversations with newfound friends.

Wonderful and inspiring

We loved absolutely everything about our recent stay at Green Peace Inn: the loving people, the amazing yoga classes, the helpful hosts, the food (still dreaming about our breakfasts and dinners together and the cooking class) and all the other like-minded guests staying there during our retreat.

An absolute gem!

I was travelling by myself but here I instantly connected with other guests and the team so I felt like home straight away. Thanks to everybody at this magical place for creating an incredible time! I don't  know whether I liked the heavenly breakfast menu or the yoga on the stunning rooftop better. Or was it the lovely people? Maybe it was the mix of everything! This place is indeed unique and perfect for calming down! One tip for future guests: don't just stay for one night, you need enough time to try all the breakfast delights ;)

A home away from home with the best breakfast in Sri Lanka

I cannot rave enough about Green Peace Inn!  This is truly a sacred place, that embodies everything you would want on vacation.   Beach, yoga, surf, delicious vegan breakfast, amazing coffee & tea, epic sunsets, comfortable beds, immaculately clean accommodations, and the most wonderful staff!  I immediately felt like part of the family the moment I walked into Green Peace.  A feeling that you don't get everywhere.  This oasis attracts such incredible people, and I cannot give it a higher recommendation!  The daily rooftop yoga at 7am and 5pm is such an added treat.  In my opinion, the perfect way to start your day!  Stop your search, and book here at Green Peace Inn!

Beachside Yoga Oasis

I arrived at green peace inn just expecting a regular room but my stay was so much more than that. I was welcomed by the owners and the other guests with open arms and huge smiles. I immediately felt comfortable in the space. This is not just guesthouse but a home. Everyone cared about my experiences in Sri Lanka and the recommendations they gave me turned out to be invaluable.
This is a huge, open property and it's perfect for the yoga classes they offer. Situated right on the beach, it's a ten minute walk to weligama (close enough for a town visit but far enough you feel you're in a private space). Their food is all vegan based and incredible! 
I stayed for three weeks longer than anticipated. All in all, one of the best stays in my travels. 


Home away from home

Green Peace Inn is this really nice and quiet place between Mirissa and Weligama, about 20meters from the Main Street and less than 50meters walking distance to the beach. Alex, Martina and Amy make you immediately feel very welcomed and soon as a part of the “family”. Which is a very nice feeling when you’re traveling solo as I do.
The rooms are super clean and although rather minimalistic they are still very cosy with these lovely details. I booked a superior room with a stunning view to the beach. 
They also provide different Hatha Yoga classes at the huge rooftop terrace at sunrise and sunset.
The food is delicious, colorful, healthy and all vegan. I personally fell in love the coconut cafe latte.
